I'm glad they eliminated the gay sailor first, so I didnt have to watch this crapfest, nor watch it ever from now on.

It looks like a lot of people gave up on this show. Good for you guys. I have no idea why I keep putting myself through this.
I still can't get over how much this show has been ruined. I used to look forward to this show because everybody on it was talented. The contestants this year are jokes. And I can't stand the judges. I hate how they keep telling the contestants they shouldn't be on this show, etc. Aren't they the ones who picked them? So this is their fault that we're stuck with shitty singers. I still don't understand how they ever picked Coffey or Laurie and Sophie. They are really painful to listen to. |

I watched one episode of this a few weeks ago.
What the hell is wrong with Ben Silverman? He brought his baby to the big network and RUINED it. He needs to read this thread. Terrible talent. They had to get Coffey, a bad reject from "American Idol"? The worst host in the history of Reality TV. Billy Ray Cyrus is more of a Cigar Store Indian than Al Gore ever was. Also, a way too glitzy set. Then again, Chris Young flopped while the Taylor Swifts and Carrie Underwoods flourish. This show was great in its first season: Buddy Jewell, John Arthur Martinez, Miranda Lambert, Amy Chappell, etc., etc. and was consistently good for several years. Nancy O'Dell was a great host. LeAnn Rimes and Sara Evans were OK, and the combination of Wynonna Judd and Cowboy Troy was dynamite. Now, its almost as bad a crapfest as "The One." |

That's been the buzz, you know. Is there any truth in that? The talent level is down and the bar has been lowered all over the world. The talent level is down everywhere. And, it's just so easy to gripe, you
know. I tend to try to look at what's there and what I can do with it and bring to it. There are so many schools of thought on this. You know, I could get
on the phone right now and call 20 people right now in Nashville who could probably outsing all those people on the show, every one of them. Is that a good
show? I don't know. That's something I learned. I didn't know anything about a TV show until I stepped into this thing. Does it make for good TV
when the judges are going, "Hey, you were great. Hey you were even better than you were last week"? There'd be no TV going on. It'd be just
some guy patting some other guy on the back. There has to be some drama for there to be a TV show. At the same time, I'm learning as I go. I'm trying
to figure out ways to really figure out the three-second bit that I get. I'm the type of guy, as you can tell, who takes about 10 minutes to get to his
point.

nobody at all stands out. They wouldn't hold their own with any of the big talents of Nashville. I voted for Gabe because he is good, and he does have a
shot with his sound and style, a la Jason Aldean, etc. There's always room for a cowboy hat, Texan, honky tonk, country guy. The fat woman singer is
totally forgettable, nothing in her voice, her song style that is unique or original.

Forget the contestants. Are there any talented people actually INVOLVED with this show? Jewel used to be I suppose. But she's proved herself to be the
ultimate stupid poseur. She did a shitty dance pop album a few years ago, it was poorly received, and now he's doing 'country'?

How did Coffey or whatever his name is even get on this show, he is horrible. Was that Eddie Veder's version of that song, he was bleating like a sheep
through the first half of it. He played the dead mother card to make it to next week.

John Rich is a pompous butthole. Jewel has no credentials to judge country music. Her "Country" album stiffed. Jeffrey Steele is an amazing
songwriter, and seems like a genuine good guy.

The fix is in, which is why she will win it. They have blantly been manipulating the viewers every week to think she may be in danger to vote for her. I mean
do we really believe she was bottom 2 the 1st week after her RAVE reviews and now she suddenly climbed to the top vote getter? No. She's been near the top
in votes probably all season.
I also don't think Ashlee was bottom 2 or whatever. Anyways I thought she did a fabo job tonight. She just reminds me of a Baby verison of Jewel. She by far has the most artistry and most marketability. Shawn & Laura/Sophie both had their best performances by far. I fucking LURVED Shawn's verison of Before He Cheats. Laura & Sophie were also very good and for the first time I finally could see what their style would be. It didn't matter what they did because the judges are so damn biased over some petty shit. I thought this was suppose to be a double elimination again? Probably Billy Ray just slipped up because he's a fucking idiot. Anyways, Coffey has received nothing but horrible critiques and he has stayed. He received so-so critiques last eppy and he'll likely the be the obvious boot. |

Gabe has been the most consistent since the beginning, and the only way he loses is if the judges keep claiming that he fails to engage the audience. He gets
the longest and loudest ovations ever week. Even if he doesn't win, he will have won over a lot of people. Melissa is the next best, with Shawn 3rd, then
Ashlee and Coffey at the bottom.
Next week is the original song competition, and I think that will determine our winner. |
