I think it means that Clay is still considered a relevant AC artist. The hit predictor for songs list might be a better indication of whether any of his songs
are showing up there.

This picture was from a couple of months ago when Clay was still in Spamalot there was a fundraiser for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. The tabloids mislabeled them as Clay and Hannah coming from seeing The Lion King. It is an annual event called the Easter Bonnet competition that was held in the theater where The Lion King is, but it was held in the afternoon before the evening show.. Each participating show on or off Broadway comes up with a creative way to present their "Easter Bonnet" by way of a skit or performance in keeping with the musical or play they represent. Hannah and Clay represented Spamalot. Prior to this event each show spends 6 weeks coming up with ways to earn donations for BC/EFA and presents the amount raised on this night. Spamalot raised 265,000 dollars in just 2 weeks. Only Rent collected more but they had the full 6 weeks to do it in , for some reason the producers of Spamalot restrict their fundraising window to only 2 weeks. Rent raised 277,000 dollars, not that its a competition or anything, but Spamalot did amazing considering the time constraints. Credit where credit is due and all that.

Clay participated in another fundraiser by Broadway Stars on Saturday.
BROADWAY BARKS 10 Monday, July 14, 2008; Posted: 10:44 AM - by Walter McBride
Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters hosted the tenth annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adopt-a-thon benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and sponsored by the ASPCA and PEDIGREE® with additional sponsorship by the New York Times took place on Saturday, July 12h in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.; celebrity presentations of pets from citywide animal shelters will take place between 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Marking the 10th Anniversary of the organization, BROADWAY BARKS 10 again helped many of New York City's shelter animals find permanent homes by informing New Yorkers about the plight of the thousands of "homeless" dogs and cats in the metropolitan area. Last year's BROADWAY BARKS! attracted an audience of more than 6,000 theater fans, pet owners, and animal lovers, and featured the participation of more than 24 animal shelters from the New York City area, as well as Broadway stars from the hit shows of the season.
BROADWAY BARKS 10 also featured an auction of celebrity-autographed memorabilia. Proceeds from the auction and other donations received during the day will benefit the shelters and organizations attending BROADWAY BARKS 10. |

New fieldnotes!!
http://fieldnotes.unicefusa.org/2008/07/somalia_keep_spreading_the_wor.html#more Fieldnotes: Blogging on UNICEF's child survival work in the field« Do good and earn miles | Main Somalia: Keep spreading the wordUNICEF Ambassador Clay Aiken recently returned from Somalia, where UNICEF provides children in the war-torn nation with health care, education, nutrition, clean water and sanitation. This is the second in a series of blog posts he will write about his experience in the field. For children in Somalia, the situation is dire. But, it's just amazing to me that UNICEF is still able to make a difference in children's lives in one of the most dangerous places on earth.
For instance, while I was in northwest Somalia-where 45 percent of the population are children and women-I observed how UNICEF improves water, sanitation and hygiene conditions for everyone in the region. One of the ways they do this is by drilling "borewells" so that clean drinking water is easily accessible and readily available. Without these borewells, children would have to walk hours to fetch water instead of going to school and getting an education. I also visited health clinics where women waited patiently in long lines to get insecticide treated bed nets to prevent malaria. With an estimated 700,000 cases annually, malaria is a major public health problem in Somalia. One bed nets used to cost a Somali family about $4-an enormous sum in one of the poorest countries of the world. But UNICEF now provides them for free. UNICEF also provides much needed support to the education system in Somalia with teacher training and the funding of school supplies. Every child I met wanted to be in school. And because of UNICEF, these children-who would probably never have had any type of education-can go to school and learn in a safe, clean environment.
Educating children is much easier when teachers are trained and school facilities exist. And, providing healthcare is more easily done when aid workers do not have to worry about their security. I applaud UNICEF for doing whatever it takes to make sure children get the healthcare and education they deserve, even in Somalia. And, I applaud you too. Since my previous blog post, you have donated over $50,000 for children Somalia. On behalf of these children, I can't thank you enough. But I also challenge you to not stop now... encourage your friends and family as well. Ask them to learn more about UNICEF's work in Somalia and around the world, and cheer them on to help out too! |

well clearly it's not about quality so much on radio anymore considering that Miley fucking Cyrus has gotten a couple of top 10 hits recently! They are catering to the tween market and leaving the quality music to be found by people who have given up on radio. What does Miley Cyrus and the tween market have to do with the "they" who program AC radio? There is no more "quality" music on the radio, not even n AC? Sara Barellies, John Mayer, Colbie Caillat, Michael McDonald, Michael Buble, Maroon 5, Natasha Bedingfield can usually be found in the top 10 on AC radio, on Delilah's nightly show, or with their music being used in tv commercials. No need for those who have "given up on radio" to send out a search party to find their music. |

well tastes vary houston, in music and in life. I personally don't like John Mayer, Maroon 5, or Natasha Bedingfield. Sara and Colbie so far are one hit wonders so the quality of their music is up for debate. Michael McDonald? when was the last time he released anything new? Michael Buble is awesome but he is more of a covers artist it seems, not releasing much original material. Clay put out a really great CD with this latest effort and IMO lack of radio play isn't always indicative of poor quality music. It seems radio may have given up on Clay to a degree with mainstream music which is a shame because he actually is one of the better male vocalists in music today and certainly could bring something to the table. and with the Miley comment I was making the point that it doesn't take musical genius to get radio play these days. it should be noted that Clay's single made the top 30 on AC so it's not exactly a flop. |

Thank you, Shannon. You made some very good points, and saved me the trouble. :))
It looks like South Korean TV is using OMWH in the ads for the upcoming Olympics! This came from a Clay board: The captions are pretty nice-it starts with how MBC staffs caught the precious moments of Olympics like Dang Sucks for filtering the word "T.EARS."
