Trix, I wanted the rounded edges for my corian counter and it was specified in the buildout contract. I was in CA when they did the trim and finish inside my
condo, and when I got back, I saw that they put in square edges. ACK. However, I didn't make them do it over, I got used to them. I have so much
countertop, it would have cost the builder 5K just for the do-over. I wasn't that invested in round edges. I had round edged corian in texas, oh well. I do
like the all in one sink design. There is no edge or anything for gunk to build up on, like when you have a sink separate from the countertop. I also LOATHE
stainless steel sinks. They look like shit in a few years. I love the old fashioned enamal sinks. They are easy to keep clean and stain free. The corian
doesn't stain, either, which is a nice surprise. It also doesn't scratch. I do keep racks on the bottom of my sink, to help protect the surface when I
am placing dishes or pans there to soak. I also HAVE to have a deep sink in the kitched. I hate shallow kitchen sinks. I also like the faucets that change to
a spray versus a stream. That makes cleanup easier, depending upon what you need to get the job done.

The idiots that lived here before made the entire kitchen black with these disgusting dark brown cabinets with some sort of horrible design embedded in them.
They don't even match. The appliances are all black which is a giant pain in the ass. I desperately want new appliances, but I need to replace the cabinets
first because they are simply horrible. And the counter is granite tile, which is also a pain in the ass. I hate them.

Jit, I wouldn't be able to buy a place where I hated the kitchen. The kitchen, master bath, a garage size are my deal breakers. Room flow is second to
that. The kitchen alone sold me on buying this condo. It has a great layout and tons of cabinets for storage.

unfortunately, I moved in to this place well after it was purchased. I've made some improvements, by making a concrete table that goes next to the counter
for all my mixers, and we are going to start making new cabinet doors in the next few weeks. The black appliances are really a mess, though. They get dirty so
quickly, I am constantly cleaning them.
The previous owners also apparently felt that they had to paint everything a fresh color in order to sell, which is fine, but they chose the ugliest shade of beige and painted the entire house with it - Glossy. Every single wall had to be sanded & primed because of that fucking glossy paint. |

ours had potential - we knew we'd replace the electric stove as soon as we saved up enough to do it, then the floors were replaced after three years, and
we've been through two other major renovations since then, slowly bringing it up to what we wanted.
Jit, you can get the cabinet doors replaced and reface the cabinets cheaper than totally replacing them. a light wood would look good with the rest of the black stuff |

We're going to make the cabinet doors, actually, i think it will be fun. We're debating making poured concrete countertops, but I am not sold on them
yet.

we built new cabinets to match our old original 50s ones - we put some updated more modern hardware on them though.
and as they had already been painted white, we just followed suit |

Wow, so much love, from OT of all places.
I'm taken aback. Is it because today is Sunday?

2old, I bet you that the kitchen in our other house is worse than yours. Some of the cabinets don't even have doors! They used to have cardboard doors but
those didn't last too long.
