"I am a Bunny" an oldie by Richard Scarry is one of my favorites. That bunny Nicholas is the cutest thing ever (other than the Velveteen Rabbit).
Loved all the Encyclopedia Brown books, and how about the Choose Your Own Adventures. Are You There God, It's Me Margaret - great book even today. Those
are off the top of my head.

I read children's book from my mother when I was one to three years old sometimes. But, I first learned English and I knew few words like "Day"
and "Hello".

"Are you my mother?" was my favorite when I was little. My daughter now loves "Goodnight Moon". I loved reading "Just In Case You Ever
Wonder" to them both, but would cry at the end every single time.

Little Dude loves 'Where the Wild Things Are' (It's my fave, too) but he loves Outside Over There even more. (we have In the Night Kitchen to
complete the set, but I think we only read it together once. It's rather odd even by Sendak standards). Honorable Mention to Goodnight Moon, Dinosaur Roar
and Green Eggs and Ham.
I will not read Rainbow Fish to him, I used to cringe anytime they'd use it in a lesson at school. Yes, teach the children that the only way they'll ever have friends is to give up what makes them unique and become just like everyone else. That's an excellent message. ~tari! |

The Velveteen Rabbit.
I hadn't read that book when I was a child, so when I read it to my daughter for the first time, I couldn't get through it without sobbing. My sobbing upset my daughter so much that she has hated that book ever since, and refused to listen to me read it again. |

I loved that Grover book as a kid. When I got older, I read a lot of Encyclopedia Brown and the Bobsy Twins.
My son was into the Little Critter books. My daughter has loved Good Night Moon and The Hairy Toe. |

I loved all the Francis books and the records that went with them. I spent hours with my Fisher Price record player and those books. Trixie Belden was my other favorite. Her best friend was Honey. As they grew older, Trixie fell in love with Honey's older brother Jim who was adopted in one of the first books. I still have all of them. |

I tell the kids that I loved that book and never thought I'd own the actual Poky Little Puppy - but take her out to pee, and she transforms right before my eyes - (and forgets to pee!) We love the Huggly book series (he's a cute monster that lives under People person's houses with his cute monster friends and they always get into trouble). I still love them, but the kids are a bit old for them now. |
