OMG, OMG, I was watching the dog show on Animal Planet and the CBR came in second in its group and I know the breeder/owner and I'll be seeing the dog next
week.

i really really <3 all the pet pics, it makes sunday mornings nice.
dolly suddenly started doing the almost seizure thing from pulling too hard on her collar/leash. we have a 'halti' but i don't like to use it when it's so darned hot- she gets way too panty for some reason. the harness we currently have for her gets really tangled in her chest ruff, we practically have to trim it off her (just a traditional harness). i'm looking at these for her, i think the wide strap across the chest will stop the severe fur tanglement and i'm just going to have to give up on walking her with a collar, she's gonna kill herself. seriously. anyone use either of these ones before?: ![]()

I use something similar to the second one for Lucy and it works great with her. She has a collapsed trachea, so I don't want any stress at all around her
neck. Plus, they just look like they must be more comfortable than the traditional harnesses. I think they're easier to put on, too.

you can also try to train her to not pull on the leash.
when murphy was younger he was awful, almost pulled my mom over several times. we were told to just stop walking when he pulls, stand there until they stop pulling then continue.. it worked! takes patience to keep stopping during a walk but worth a try maybe. |

ashley, we did that for months on end. she just doesn't care. literally hours a day. she's a stubborn git. even the vet laughs when we bring her in
'o, have fun with that one'. i've never had a problem training a dog until this one. the trachea thing scares me. i think she was cutting off her
air supply or something. very close to a seizure. the halti helps a lot but she's a: so damned miserable on it and b: it makes her really panty. the
harness is a compromise, her happiness and my sanity. training: it took over two years to house train her. we crated, did treats, litterbox, walks every hour.
she didn't care.
eta: ann, good to know. i'm having a hard time figuring out sizing. measurements she's a large. weight and xl. i'm thinking xl to be safe

i looked there, they don't carry that one there. just the traditional strappy ones. it should be ok, if not i'll just return/exchange it. amazon's
really good about that.

Stewie is home and rather mushy thank goodness. I don't think I could deal if he kept bothering me to go out.

Blonde, have you ever tried a gentle leader? It really helped with my doggie who was a constant leash puller, as well as jumping on people.
If she got ahead of me, it applies pressure on the back of the neck as a gentle reminder she's supposed to stay beside me. It comes with a DVD as well, and took a little getting used to...but no more leash pulling.

o, thanks annie! that's what i've been (mis)calling the halti. it makes her walk well but she tosses her head so much and so violently that she gets
really panty and in this heat i get nervous. i do really recommend it very much though. after the first few minutes with it she does pretty well.

Ugh had to buy Stewie and Dee Dee muzzles after Stewie trying to kill himself via mushroom. Little stubborn fucker just will not leave it alone and refuses to
do anything when I take him outside. Probably should've left him at the vets.
