Felicia - Those storms WERE brutal. Ugh. I hate lightning. It looks like anything that hits you guys hits us as well. BTW, we got cable back yesterday.
We'll see how long that lasts.

Hi all. Hey Felicia, what's the deal. I took a short hiatus from the hiatus thread, only to find you've been flirting with a 6'3" giraffe.
Are you trying to make me jealous, or is he just hung like a donkey? I'm only 6'1", but I could make up for those extra two inches by pretending
to be a selfless, sensitive guy.
Been traveling like a madman, and between that and little league playoffs, I haven't even had time to watch any tv (I know, I'm a heathen on this board for even implying that reality gets in the way of reality tv). And since this thread doubles as a movie discussion group, I will also confess that I'm way behind you guys. Other than Kung Fu Panda, the only movies I've seen (rented) this summer are Cloverfield, I am Legend and No Country for Old Men. All cweepy in their own way, and I love the cweepy ones. |

I haven't seen any of those yet, chidelta. The movie rental place near me closed, so if I don't see it in theaters, I don't see it for quite a
while. One of these days I'll get a Netflix subscribtion...
I went to a little league playoff game the other day, my uncle coaches a team a few towns over and they were playing here. It wasn't pretty. It only went 4 innings, and took FOREVER! |

Actually, yes!
I've been really wanting to go on a road trip lately, cause I have nothing to do this summer. So I will gladly go in a car with 2 kids for 7 hours, cause I love driving! The thing is, you have to pay for the gas. :-p |

I started watching Aussie versions of The Mole last night.

Good luck, Aslans, I'm sure your visit will be appreciated. My mother-in-law is stage 4 cancer (boo!), but has outlived her prognosis by almost a year now
(yeah!). It's so unpredictable, and the doctors don't always know everything, so it feels like as a family we're on pins and needles a lot of the
time. On the bright side, it reminds us to live each day more fully, and not to sweat the small stuff (like whether a polar bear can turn a wheel or not). We
make the long drive every other weekend so she can see the kids as much as possible. She's making the trek to Chicago this weekend . . . we got great
tickets to the Cubs game, right behind home plate (got a source inside the organization). Look for us on tv, I'll be the one holding the sign that says
"I <3 Felicia (when my wife's not around)".

BTW, Chidelta, cancer does suck. I'm come to learn that life is precious and every day is a gift. My hubby's grandmother may be okay for quite a while or maybe not but at least we get to spend some more time with her this weekend. At least my girls get to know their great grandmother a little better. This is the only weekend in quite a while that we'll have free so I guess we're off to WV.

Good one, Aslans. Since my wife will be sitting next to me, maybe I need a few different signs, and can use the cyberfriends sign when my wife is in the
bathroom. Is there such a thing as adultery by way of the Sucks message board?
Speaking of signs, we're posting a welcome message to my mother-in-law on the Cubs scoreboard in the middle of the game. I may be a suck-up, but at least I do it in style. |

I'm harmless. *cough* Cancer.. my aunt passed away last month. She had lung cancer that spread all over. This really hit me hard because she was the closest person to me to die. I've been extremely lucky and blessed that I've lived this long without experiencing a lot of personal loss. My grandmother (my love) is still kicking. :) My grandfather lived to be almost 100. (yep big age difference between them) There was that awful trauma with my bio-father. (chidelta and Aslans know all about that, not gonna go into details) I realized then how sheltered I was from tragedy and loss. Ok, so depressing. Anyone wanna have phone sex? |
