you know, the boy and I had a conversation today about cartoons. He told me that the stuff they run on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon had "lost its
edge" and "they just don't make good cartoons anymore."
and by "good cartoons" he meant stuff from two and three years ago. that poor child. |

Poor child indeed. I also adored what was on Saturday mornings during the 80s. Those were cartoons, dammit!

I like the one where Bugs Bunny is hanging out in a park with out of work actors. There's Jack Benny, Bing Crosby, Al Jolsen and others. They all start
performing when big time producer Elmer Fudd comes walking in the park. Elmer sees Bugs and says "Bugs Bunny! Why are you hanging out with these bums?
They'll never amount to anything."

Oh, "Duck Amuck" was great too. The one with the animator fucking with Daffy, that turns out to be Bugs.
"This is a close-up?" "Thanks for the sour persimmons, cousin." Pretty much any Bugs/Daffy 'toons were usually pretty hilarious. |
