I was fishing in front of our place in Destin one night and caught about a 3 foot shark. It was awesome.

I only did the cages in Hawaii..
That is not me in the above pic. Guadalupe Island is a very, very sharky area for massive white sharks. It is a trip I will be doing as it is far cheaper to got to the vessel (out of California) that to South Africa. |

I was snorkeling with my father in the Florida Keys once, and already semi-freaked out by the barracudas.
Then I sensed a presence to my right. I looked over and there was a huge shark maybe 20 yards away checking me out. I didn't feel threatened, as the thing was eyeballing me, and I didn't sense that it was in attack mode. Still I immediately popped up to the surface as my father surfaced and I didn't want to alarm him so I was all "Did you see that, uh, marlin?" Dad goes "Shark, kid, that was a shark" as though I was the stupidest boy on the planet. I also once took a guided tour in Thailand to swim with black-tipped (?) sharks, which don't attack humans. Really cool. They were all over the place. Beautiful creatures. |
