I prefer How the West Was Won and most of the Clint Eastwood westerns to that one, but it is good

As a Spaghetti Western, it's not Cheesy enough for me.

Hang em High is SO a spaghetti western. IT just happened to filmed in the US, not Italy..
The first spaghetti western made in America (sans Leone) and Eastwood's first star vehicle made outside Europe. Eastwood's innocent cowboy miraculously survives his own hanging and then treks across the frontier to bring his hangmen to justice. Highly entertaining, featuring in small parts Dern, Hopper, and cowboy veteran Bob Steele as a dungeon prisoner. |

Where did you get that info from? According to Wikipedia, (not gospel I understand but it matches my understanding) a spaghetti western is defined as follows: There's even a link to a list of spaghetti western films, and Hang 'em High appears nowhere on it. |

I guess if you technically consider a spaghetti western strictly those made in Europe...then you are correct. HEH wouldn't qualify. Loosely defined, HEH
has all the hallmarks of a SW, however. Simple revenge-based plot, lots of over-acting and odd moments of humor, dramatic florid music and of course, Clint
Eastwood.

Once Upon a Time in the West and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly are tied for best spaghetti western ever. They're both also pretty high up on the list of
best westerns ever.
According to me, anyway. |

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
awesome score too....except the out of tune string on the guitar on this part drives me a little nuts...but once the trumpet comes in....ahhhhh |

Yup, Ennio Morricone. He's at least half the reason spaghetti westerns are so good.
