Episode 9 - To Lie Or Not To Lie
Jeff Probst: <narration> Previously on Survivor… <The camera shows the Malakal tribe's flag, and then turns to show Brooke sitting by the fire, as Sherea can be seen pouring rice out into the pot>
Brooke: <to Sherea> Funny that we're both still here, girl… <Sherea is now shown looking up>
Jeff Probst: <narration> With Aras, Alexis, Mary, and Ian in control of the Malakal tribe, <Alexis, Mary, Ian, and Aras are now shown lying in the shelter together> Brooke and Sherea tried to form a counter-alliance with Kathy and Joel… <Brooke is then shown talking to Joel on the beach>
Brooke: <to Joel> Who do you think's calling all the shots? <The camera now zooms in on Joel>
Joel: <to Brooke> Oh, I think Aras. <Brooke can be seen subtly nodding her head>
Brooke: <to Joel> I mean, there's a way for us to take the control out of his hands… <Joel is shown>
Joel - CONFESSIONAL: Logic says that if you're on the outside of a four, um, <pause> you look for other options, and maybe we're better off aligning with Brooke and Sherea… <A prominent drumbeat is heard, as the camera abruptly cuts ahead to show Joel forcefully chopping into a coconut>
Jeff Probst: <narration> But the next day, <Mary is shown turning her head, as a distressed Joel can be heard shouting loudly> Joel was evacuated from the game when he cut his hand with the machete, severing the tendon to his fingers… <The camera shows the medics and the Malakal members walking with Joel towards the boat>
Joel: <to Aras> I hate that I'm leaving you guys. <The medical boat is now shown speeding away from Malakal's island, as the castaways shout "Bye!" and "Love you!">
Jeff Probst: <narration> His evacuation left Brooke, Sherea, and Kathy outnumbered, <The camera shows a clip of both Brooke and Sherea with sad looks on their faces> and in a vulnerable position…
Brooke - CONFESSIONAL: I can't help but think, "My back-up plan just got taken away on that boat…" <laughs> <The camera cuts ahead to show both Tracy and Kathy in the wooden hut>
Jeff Probst: <narration> On Exile Island, Kathy let her ally, Tracy, in on some Malakal tribe secrets…
Kathy: The four we need to get rid of first are Aras, Ian, Alexis, and Mary… <Tracy is now shown>
Tracy: <to Kathy> So are they in an alliance? <Kathy can be seen nodding her head, before 'Micronesia Immunity' plays, and the camera shows an overhead view of the vast ocean>
Jeff Probst: <narration> In the final Immunity Challenge before the merge, <A clip of Brooke and Sherea working on a Micronesian storyboard is shown> the Airai tribe came up short once again,
and Malakal won their sixth-straight Immunity Challenge. <Jeff can now be seen raising his arms>
Jeff Probst: <shouting> Malakal wins Immunity again! <A victory theme plays, as the camera shows the four Malakal members cheering and hugging excitedly>
Aras: We've won almost every challenge! <The camera shows the Airai members returning to camp>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Before Tribal Council, Jason revealed to Tracy and Eliza that he was suspicious of Mikey B having the hidden Immunity Idol… <Another close-up view of Jason is shown>
Jason: <whispering> When Ian and myself were on Exile Island, we followed all the clues and there was no idol there… <Tracy is now shown again, as she listens intently>
Jeff Probst: <narration> So Tracy came up with a plan to blindside Mikey and keep Eliza to secure votes from Brooke and Sherea after the merge. <Another view of Tracy is now shown>
Tracy - CONFESSIONAL: I think if we lose Eliza, <The camera shows a rapid clip of Eliza> we lose Brooke's vote and we lose Sherea's vote, so at this point, I mean, we need the Favorites or we are gonna be screwed… <A pensive Tracy is now shown talking to Jason and Eliza>
Tracy: We're gonna have to take Mike out… <The camera scrolls across the three Airai members>
Eliza: <to Tracy> And get rid of the idol? <A view of a devious Eliza is then shown next>
Jeff Probst: <narration> But Eliza filled Mikey in on the plan to oust him, and decided to target Jason.
Eliza - CONFESSIONAL: To be honest, I'd rather have Mikey around than Jason because I think Mikey's much less of a threat than Jason would be, <The camera shows another clip of an unsuspecting Jason> so <long pause> I might accidentally let it slip to Mikey that he should use the hidden Immunity Idol tonight. <'Tally the Vote' begins to play, as the camera fades into an aerial view of the Tribal Council village, and then shows the four Airai members sitting down>
Jeff Probst: <narration> At Tribal Council… <The camera shows a close-up view of Mikey>
Mikey: My head is just spinning right now. <Tracy can be seen shifting her expression> I'm sensing a lot of lying and deception tonight. No doubt about it… <Jason now looks towards Mikey>
Jason: <to Mikey> I think you're just being paranoid… <Mikey is then shown again>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Eliza's plan to eliminate Jason worked, <Mikey can now be seen handing the hidden Immunity Idol to Jeff> when Mikey B heeded her advice and played the hidden Immunity Idol… <The camera then cuts back to a grinning Jason>
Jason: Oh, here it comes… <laughs> <Jeff is now shown again, as he stares down at the final vote>
Jeff Probst: Ninth person voted out of Survivor: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorites: <The camera scrolls across the four Airai members, and then cuts back to Jeff, as he reveals the deciding vote to the castaways> Jason. <A disappointed Jason is shown placing his torch into the slot in front of Jeff>
Jason: Well, <short pause> the dream is over… <The camera now zooms back in on Jeff>
Jeff Probst: Jason, the tribe has spoken. <The camera shows Jeff snuffing out Jason's torch>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Ten are left. <A wide view of the three remaining Airai members is now shown> Who will be voted out tonight? <The camera shows the castaways grabbing their torches, and then zooms out to show them walking out of the Tribal Council village. The screen fades out>
