If there really are Japanese shows similar to this one then it is less disappointing than if there aren't. Does that make sense? If the Japanese game show
is as bizarre to the Japanese as it is to us then it is kinda fraudulent, and rude.

Well...I guess my question about whether there was a reality show in Japan about Americans coming onto their tv show has been answered since this Majide or
whatever show isn't even legit.

Are these games taken from real game shows?

Exactly. Check it out on youtube. Human tetris and the Japanese guys answering questions and getting their nuts hit with a hammer when they answer
incorrectly come to mind.

There's also one clip of about 20 young japanese girls with what looks like pork chops strapped to their heads. They have to stick their head up through a
hole in a "table top." Then the announce releases a small komodo dragon type animal and it charges at the porkchops.
Since I don't understand japanese, all I can say is it REALLY looks f-ed up. The games on this show are probably "tamer" than your average japanese game show. Wipeout is actually more like a true physical japanese game show. They are crazy people.

I don't care if this is not an actual Japanese game show. These contestants are being treated like they are on one and getting to experience what an
actual game show in Japan is like. Fine with me, and I find it very entertaining.

I've seen a lot of Japanese TV shows as well. In fact, there is a great little program you can download called "KeyholeTV". Open this program and
you can switch between live streams of different Japanese television channels.
You'll find that this kind of stuff is typical on their shows... and even on their many variety shows. I think the ISAJGS people did a pretty good job of making the games and Majide as authentic as possible. |

The sound of velcro as she takes the walk of shame! This show is gold. |

Redundant I know, but watching this tonight, all I could think of was the delicious slapstick of El Gran Juego De La Oca.

Meaghan's immunity idea was a stroke of genius but Donnell will not follow thru with his promise.
I don't think it was a stroke of genius. I found it to be very bully-ish. It could have backfired on her, and it did, but not the way I thought it would. I expected them to say "FUCK YOU WE'LL GIVE YOU IMMUNITY! We're putting you in whether you like it or not." If the others had any brains that's what they should have done. LOVED the velcro game. I wanted to see more. I wish it were best 6 out of 10. Poor Darcy. I was really starting to like her. |

With this show I still get the experience but I know what's going on. They don't even need to add the "Survivor" element to it to make it entertaining - they only do that to make it an hour long and it's a way to cheaply cast and house people in Japan. |

If anyone here have watched the human tetris game, you know what I mean.

The way she just burst into the kitchen wrapped in only a towel and acted like she was sacrificing herself for the good of the team followed immediately by laying down the "ground rules" made me want to slap the shit out of her. I think Donnell agreed initially because if he didn't Meaghan and Mary would've totally stuck him in the elimination challenge. When he went back on his word Meaghan got all "holier than thou" about it which made me dislike her more. And next week she keeps it up it seems. Ugh. |
