The hot frats near us shouted "if the fireworks spell out 4th of july i'll fucking take off my clothes and do a backflip here".
didn't happen  . but otherwise pretty awesome! loves the golden clusters thing.

The mexican neighbors are having a blast....strobe lights, mariachi music, open pit grill with some large animal roasting, fireworks. I don't have the
heart to tell them that it's July 5th, the fuckers.

The fun thing about the Bay Area is that if you're in just the right place, you can see the fireworks from SF, Jack London Square, San Jose, and Mountain
View at around the same time from one spot. It's really quite cool -- like fireworks in the round.
That said, SF and Mountain View had some cool fireworks that were in the shape of the Olympic Rings. For the black ring, they used gold, though, but otherwise, it was very cool. |

Great fireworks at Oaks Parks in Stumptown! The best part was the finale when they pop off a whole bunch of fireworks, the crowd cheers wildly and as skies
fades to black, there's a symphony of car alarms going off all over the neighborhood.

pretty good here in our town. afterward, all the neighbors set theirs off. everytime i hear a big one all i think is "oh there goes a hand/eye".

 it must be a getting older thing. i used to think "wooooo!!!" when i heard loud ones.
also, i've discovered that when i can't find something, my first thought is "somebody took this!!", instead of "where the fuck did i put that?". |

There was this really fat red-faced guy in the Atlanta crowd who danced for HOURS, and I'm talking jumping up and down, spinning, humping air, high kicks,
throwing sparkly jazz fingers in the air, gettin' low, and all kinds of hilariously over the top and elaborate choreography. And this is all to things like
"Lady Marmalade." I had a front row seat for this and only me, my people, and a few others around us were enjoying the show at first, but soon he
became a phenomenon, with tons of people crowding around and taking pictures. This made him go even crazier, and throughout the night he was joined on his own
little dance floor by hot young chicks, two hipster asians, a black midget, an elderly gay man, and this really trashy semi-fat hick lady with huge hair. He
looked like he was going to have a heart attack throughout, but it was the funniest thing I've ever seen. I wish I started taking pictures early so I could
capture the whole progression of his fame.
I'm sure he'll be on youtube shortly.
Needless to say, after that, the fireworks were meh. |

Our friends went to SF for the fourth, I'll have to see how they liked it.
Ours were meh. They launched too slow at the beginning, but we had a couple of heart ones that made the crowd go "oohh, aaaahhhhhh" It was cool sitting up on the hill and you can see all the other suburban cities doing theirs at the same time. |

does anyone think the green and pink fireworks are cheap? they always look like fillers to me.

I didn't make any effort to go see any but the town ones can be seen partially from my backyeard (some is blocked by trees) so I shut the outside light and
sat on the patio and watched. They were nice but after what I thought was surely the finale, they kept setting off one or 2 every minute for a quite a few more
minutes.
It was weird... I bet it made the people that went to where they actually set them off from crazy thinking time and time again that it was over. My favorite are the white star like ones that shoot up and then make that buzzing sound. |

One of the smaller communities here had a great show on Sat. The town fireworks were thurs. they were meh.
