HBP was used, as most have said, to set up the grand finale.

I loved HBP, the ending had me so drawn in and I couldn't put it down once I got to that point. And the flashbacks of Voldemort's past were amazing
too. This makes me wanna start reading the seventh.

I was actually disappointed by the length of HBP. OotP was this huge ass 1000+ page thing, so I naturally expected HBP to be about 1200+ pages and be a really
nice and long read. Not so unfortunately.

Don't worry about spoilers or anything, geez!
I'm mostly talking about Dumbledore's death, not anything else. |

HP is underrated, IMHO, and I love the introduction of Slughorn and Greyback. Those two characters really set the tone for the rest of the series. I do wishes
Slughorn was introduce before Hagrid though.... and Slughorn's conducts at the "funeral" was perhaps the funniest I ever read in any series!
Just for a spin, I thought the HP was too obvious to be THAT prince, so I assume it was Longbottom or Hagrid (being half-giant and all) though it was clear who was HP. BTW I much prefer British over American cover for HP. It really set the mood for everything else! |

The british HBP cover is actually okay. Compared to the rest of the british covers its best. It kinda shows the main point of the book.

The American cover is more visually pleasing, but it does not capture the tension and overall mood during the cave scene of HBP.
You can literally notice that HP is fighting for his life while Dumbedore is still tough and determined as ever. |

lol at the french cover #4 Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire FLEUR DELACOUR <33333 (accent ownage)
This is the book where Voldemort started to regain his powers and the Death Eaters are back to do their business. Love all the drama (and the flirting) and of course, the epic Tri-Wizard Tournament <3. The movie ruined the story though. Dobby gave Harry the gillyweed to be able to swim in the lake but in the movie, Neville gave it to Harry. |

So far, the ranking is pretty right on. GoF deserves the middle spot. Not superb like the other 3, but not bad. The Triwizard Tournament was an interesting
plot. And I loved the Quidditch World Cup scenes. My whole problem with it is that the mystery is really really confusing. Even when I know what happens. All
the stuff about Bertha Jorkins and the Imperious Curse and Crouch and his son.

Weird... during British HP, Dumbedore's left hand is being seen yet it is not black. During American HBP, Dumbedore's right hand is being seen, and it
is not black.

Dead to me. Goblet of Fire is the best in the series. It transitions perfectly from the increasingly more mature first three books to the death and chaos of
the final 3 books.
