Sucksters (including me) who predicted Kristy was the most likely person besides the top 2 to get signed have been vindicated. In fact, a lot of us were saying
this as soon as she made the top 10. Kellie, Bucky and Josh have all had considerable success without being in the top 2, so Idol has a track record for
country success, something Kristy knows as well as anybody (she didn't start out as a country singer, cf Amazing Grace and Rescue Me).
How will she do? Based just on singing talent, she's not as good a country singer as the 3 other also-rans who've done well. She also doesn't have Kellie's memorable personality or Bucky's likability. But even with all that against her, she could get a real career out of this if she finds the right songs. We've recently seen the song Tattoo (and a Superbowl appearance) turn Jordin's CD from a flop into a moderate success--one good or great song that gets airplay if often all you need.

Arista dropped her years ago. Well, good luck Kristy. Maybe she'll make a go of it this time.
