In episode 4, I was really rooting for Jerri/Mitchell/Amber/Colby/Tina's alliance to pull through and just boot Keith, but Colby and Tina flipped. :/ In episode 5, Amber had a lot more airtime, and it was great to see her comment on the power struggle for Colby and the shock of Mitchell leaving. And then at the reward challenge, she broke down which was really sad to see. At the time, I thought if Ogakor lost, Jerri would go home and then the 4 of them would get picked off one by one, but to now know Amber would have been the boot sucks. Thank goodness Ogakor won that IC, otherwise she would have gone home and she wouldn't have been on ASS... I know that leaves some of you mad, but <333 I am happy. To see the joy on her face when they won the maze challenge... probably my top moment for Australia, was Ogakor's comeback at that IC. Then Mike got evacuated, which was sad, but definitely benefited Ogakor. Post merge, she continued to be a low key sweetheart, and when she got blindsided at the Jerri vote, I felt bad for her. Episode 10 was the aftermath of that vote, and it was sad to see her feel isolated from her group, but good to see her getting closer to Elisabeth. Too bad Elisabeth was too close to Tina, because a coup would have been great. Amber grew up in S2, and that was nice to see, especially in her last episode. They really showcased that growth, and it was really nice to see her leave with no bitterness, blowing kisses to everyone left, and even saying that they were the best 5 people she could have spent her last few days with. Class act. <3 Also liked that she voted for Colby to win. Amber was awesome. Pre-ASS, she was in my top 10 fave survivors, but not at the top... I was hoping Kim P, Gervase, Christy etc would have been on ASS before her, but I was so excited when I found out she was on ASS, because she was my only fave to make it on the show, and I was rooting for her. Watching her on ASS made me appreciate Amber in S2 even more, so as you can probably tell, she has been bumped above Christy. Amber said "Oh my god!" alot; Amber cried after losing a challenge; Amber voted for Colby... Imagine a fat chick doing all those things and then ask yourself whether you would have paid any attention to her, let alone consider her one of your favorites. Are you ever going to cut the bullshit and be honest for once? You liked her because you wanted to ram her through a wall the moment you saw her.

CR, have your tastes evolved? In early seasons your faves were Amber and Kim P, but don't rate their later-day equivalents such as Darrah, Julie, Jenn, Michelle, and Amanda nearly as high. PS: I think your Christy love would disappear pretty quick if she'd been put on Chapera instead of Alicia. Bet she'd have a big chip on her shoulder about all the attention Amber was getting from Rob, and Mariano would make her feel about as welcome as he did Alicia. Amber was low key, but no where near as Darrah, Michelle, or Jenn. Kim P. was a big character in Africa, she only had a few UTR eps. Teresa was actually far more UTR than Kim was. FAR MORE. Back then, everyone got a storyline/was known. People like Darrah, Michelle, and Jenn had no storyline. I really liked Amanda, but she kept screwing up and is apparently stuck up outside the game. I still like her, just not as much as others. PS: I think your Christy love would disappear pretty quick if she'd been put on Chapera instead of Alicia. Romber fans who moralistically hate the Amazon "cool kids" are hypocrites in my book. This is all speculative though. A lot of ifs and buts. Who knows how Christy would have reacted to Amber. We know that many people have said Amber is very sweet, so maybe Christy would have taken to her. Rob didn't "ignore" Alicia, in fact, he made an alliance with her that meant enough to her that she was a bitter twat about. Rob didn't take so well to Alicia because she was too vocal, probably in a way he considered obnoxious. Rob took to two younger girls, but from watching the two seasons, it was nothing like the clique that happened in Amazon. If you watch Amazon, Rob C and Alex, specifically, drool over the girls, Rob C even talking about how to get a threesome going. Rob M had romantic flings with Sarah and Amber, but didn't constantly talk about it, nor did he noticeably alienate the Matts, Christys and Butchs (equivalent to Rupert, Tom, Hunter). Nor did he change his gameplan to include hot girls in his alliance. He stuck with Chapera. He stuck with his Maraamu alliance. Proof: No one was outwardly resentful towards Rob in the way Matt, Christy, and Butch were. But Hunter and Gina were upset over how he and his alliance were lazy, not for how he treated them, but even then, they saw potential in him and were more upset with Sean and Sarah. They even wanted an alliance with him. John and the Rotu alliance were upset that he kept trying to stir the pot, not for ignoring them. Tom, Alicia, Lex, Kathy only hated him once the alliance was betrayed. Romber never excluded anyone like the Amazon Clique did. In fact, Amber was one of the only people that talked to Shii-Ann when she was the last Mogo Mogo left.

Example, Beatles tends to root for older, dominant male or funny bitchy females. The "sweetheart" is someone I root for. OMG stop the presses! If I thought a chick was hot, then she's hot. Eliza Orlins (Survivor Micronesia ~ Fans vs. Favourites) Going into S16, I did love Eliza, but I had my other faves above her (Cirie, Ami, Yau-Man). But from episode 1, she totally exceeded my expectations and she was definitely playing hard. Watching her scheme against the showmance alliance was great, and she knew what she was doing. When she made what could have been the best alliance ever, she was the only one who was right about wanting to bring in Cirie instead of Fairplay... who knows what would have happened if they brought Cirie in early. Anyway, in episode 2, she showed shades of Vanuatu Eliza which I liked... 'I always think it could be me at tribal!!!" and "they're filling her head with lies!!!". In episode 4, bitchy Eliza showed up and I loved it. The way she was being written off by James and Ozzy was stupid, and she spoke up at camp and in her confessional. "I hate these people. I hate them. I want them to get as sick as I am and they would have to be removed from the game." Then her insider clip was amazing. "Cirie is a PMSing bitch who isn't the queen of the world. Jonathan is a bossy and I hate him. Parvati makes me sick the way the slut drools over James, get a room! Amanda is a fake bitch with no personality, hello is anyone in there, or is she just a blowup doll?? Ozzy thinks he's the king of the planet when he's really not all that, and he sucks because he couldn't strategize his way out of a paper bag. James is a chauvinistic twatsicle who i want to see burn in hell. Oh, I like Ami." Exaggeration of course, but she had so much hate for Malakal but ended it on a short, but positive note. After the switch, I was happy for her, and she continued to fight so hard in every challenge when she knew Alexis/Nat were dumb. After the merge, she gave it her best. It sucked to see her go, but she went out with a bang, playing a fake idol stick, and then outing Ozztard's idol... then her jury reactions almost every week brought some of the best entertainment. <333 She's lower because for a while in the season, she was low key. 17. Ami Cusack (Survivor Vanuatu) Ami started off Vanuatu UTR. She had her moment in episode 4 where she was a positive character on Yasur. In episode 5, she emerged as a character, and honestly, I didn't like what I saw. It's like she became queen bitch of the planet. I didn't understand why she didn't want to just share the secret of opening a coconut with the guys. But, to be fair to her, I completely understood why she wanted to take out Bubba. It only made sense, why the hell would he send signals to the other team and expect to stay? She made the right call, so I respected her in that facet. The next episode provided some great entertainment with the whole Lisa-Ami fight. "I should know where the manioc is, just in case, you know...". " I don't trust her she's a liar." Kind of extreme, huh? But I hated Lisa, so it made me like Ami. The next ep, she had a heart-warming moment with the letters from home... it was really nice to see her get emotional, and the story about her brother was very sad. After the merge, Rory really had it out for Ami, and I didn't understand, because all she really did in my eyes was reject his alliance offer. But I was happy when Ami survived, and her confessional the next episode was great. "We shocked the shiznit out of the guys." It's true, and it was very entertaining. Ami was a great manipulator. She could use emotional tactics to order those girls around for the most part. When the plan was hatched to boot Eliza at 8, Ami sensed a shift in attitudes and went around and slapped everyone back in line. And it saved her ass. She tried to do the same thing at 7, but it didn't work and it led to her demise. In episode 12, I loved the Ami that came out... she was feisty and she had so much fight to stay in the game. She tried her best with Eliza, and if only one of Eliza/Julie/Ami won immunity, it would have worked. Seeing her tell off that scunt Scout was great. The whole TC scene with Eliza and Ami was very emotional and sad. Too bad one of them didn't win immunity. While she started off UTR, she made many m.orphs. From UTR to bitch to player to fighter. "Sweetheart" is not a type, it is a euphemism for a particular demographic profile, ie young, attractive, white, twenty something woman who isn't a bitch. Saying that you root for "sweethearts" pretty much confirms that demographic bias. I never said looks were the only factor in your case, but it is clearly the main factor. You would have regarded a fat chick with Amber's personality with total indifference if not contempt (in theory, anyway, since a fat chick with Amber's personality would have no chance of being cast). I don't get why you're so uncomfortable with this, and have to pretend to be some kind of asexual, Ghandiesque being who always looks past the superficial when judging people. Is this some kind of religious hang up, where you've been conditioned to feel so ashamed of your sexuality you're terrified to admit you like watching sexy women on TV? It's perfectly normal.
