You can tell when someone puts their all into a routine and when people just don't care about it. Courtney and Gev's solos were both very good tonight.
I wasn't expecting it though. I was pleasantly surprised by both of them. Maybe it was good for them to be in the bottom three tonight just so we could see
how they would perform in their solos if given the chance.

ITA... and for me... the way that Courtney just exploded onto the stage for her solo was just a WOW moment for me from the start. It is rare to also see
musicality and tricks blended so well during a contemporary solo and she nailed both. What can you say about Gev? Amazing tricks, showmanship, the whole
package. The best Bboy/Hip Hop solo I have seen on the show.
I hope that others who felt as though these two were "off their radars" before are noticing the large blip appearing there now. They are both in it to win it... 110% |

I missed the first 5 minutes. How was the opening number? They did "Money Makes The World Go Around" from the Broadway show Cabaret. I thought the choreography was just awful. It was like a Las Vegas version of that song -- done by all show girls and show boys. Cruise ship entertainment . . . you know what I mean. It really looked like they didn't have enough time to rehearse so that they all knew what to do. And none of them showed ANY understanding of what the song meant and how it fit in the show (When "Hunger" comes knocking at the door -- they got that Matt or Mark gay guy (the one who didn't get kicked off) coming through a door in the back with a stupid grin on his face throwing paper money around that happens to have Nigel's face in the middle (yes, the camera did a close up so we would all notice). The choreography and the dancing failed to capture the irony, sense of injustice and anger that the singers are feeling --- look at what lyrics they are supposedly singing and dancing to: If you haven't any coal in the stove And you freeze in the winter And you curse on the wind At your fate When you haven't any shoes On your feet And your coat's thin as paper And you look thirty pounds Underweight. When you go to get a word of advice From the fat little pastor He will tell you to love evermore. But when hunger comes a rap, Rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat at the window... [GIRLS] At the window... [EMCEE (spoken)] Who's there? [GIRLS (spoken)] Hunger! [EMCEE (Spoken)] Ooh, hunger! See how love flies out the door... |

I ended up voting the other night for Jessica/Will because I'm fucking sick of the judges' bullshit towards her. I couldn't care less about Will,
but I gotta support my ginger girl and I think she gets an unfair rap by being partnered with Will. I feel like they expect partners to be equals, but it's
always been a push/pull where one usually ends up being stronger and somewhat covering for the other and it's made out that Will is always covering for
Jessica's lack of skill, when many times he's just as at fault. Of course, this week his "omg hawt abs!!1!" distract from anything
potentially negative they could say about him. Maybe now they realize if they're going to pimp Will, Jessica is going to come with him as a package deal
and so now they're finally trotting out the "believe in yourself, you're a great dancer, don't worry!" nonsense to make up for all the
shit they gave her earlier. Nothing would make me happier than to see Will immediately crash and burn at the top 10 while Jessica survives. It won't
happen...but damn, wouldn't it be great?
Gev's solo = awesomeness. He and Courtney are a great partnering, I just think they didn't get great dances the other night. Thayne is so creepy. Paint his face green and he'd look exactly like the Joker from Batman. I'm so glad he'll be gone next week. Though I did like his smooth waltz with Comfort. It's odd how much I've enjoyed the waltzes this season. Twitchington's bed dance was sickening. Almost as badly non-dance as "dead dad", but again "omg hawt abs!11" takes precedence over any negative critique that could be given. I was hoping they were going to be in the bottom 3 when they were brought out with Joshua/Katee. Bleh, I've already resigned myself to the fact that both of them are going to be around for a long time like I was with the mega-obnoxious Lacey, it's just why does there have to be TWO of them?? |

On the gay/straight thing here is the bottom line--can you act? If you are a gay guy paired with a female can you make attraction seem natural? The best
dancers can.

If Nigel is so 'obsessed' with his male dancers having to be strong, macho and all that, why did he pick all those skinny, effeminate-looking gay guys for top 20? Top 20 this season = 3 man (3 black guys) + 17 girls |

Thayne reminds me of Guy Pearce, if Guy Pearce had some sort of plastic surgery to his face where the doc paralyzed his face into a creepy smile out of some sort of revenge. |

I don't understand why Nigel would prefer creepo Thayne over the beautifully graceful Matt. Matt's solos are great and he really tries every week & does better than Nigel gives him credit for. I'll miss Matt. |

No one noticed DWTS's Edyta in the crowd after Comfort and Thayne were being announced as the last couple in the bottom?

Nigel doesn't mind his favs going shirtless this season (Will, Twitch), yet I remember him giving Dmitri grief when his shirt was unbuttoned a couple of
seasons ago.
The opening number was a mess. Very disappointing. Wednesday night's group dance reminded me way too much of Ramalama Bang Bang. I just had a horrid picture in my head: Kherington and Thayne as partners. Their teeth would be blinding.

Both Courtney and Gev's solos were amazing. They had no business in the bottom 3 in the first place. Glad Kourtni and Matt are gone, now get rid of Jessica
and Thayne and i'll be happy.
Not gonna play gay/straight cuz I couldn't care less. |

Comfort deciding on her solo choreography:
"So first I'll grab my pants then I'll throw my arms out in front of me. Hmmmm....what to do next? (a minute passes) Oh, I know!! I'll grab my pants and then I'll throw my arms out in front of me. Ummmm, now what?..." Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Gev was fucking awesome. |

I do not get the Courtney love at all. She is a troll next to Katee.
Gev, at least, can dance. That 'solo' she did was just sad. Sorry to all the love trainers but she pales in comparison to the top 3 women. Josh and Katee are the couple to beat IMO. They just keep getting better and better each week. |

Ugh all my faves seem to start out great and then they start sucking and get eliminated.
First Chelsea/Chris then Matt/Kourtni if Comfort/Thayne leave next week I would only have Katee/Joshua left =\ *Hopes for shocking Twitchington elimination* |

Coutney's solo was the best female solo so far in the TOP 20 this year. FLAWLESS!!!!
Gev also won me over with his explosive solo too. I'm glad Comfort stayed over Kourtni. Her solo was weak and she did horrible with a partner. I'm not surprized Matt went with her. Nigel hated him plus it's best to keep Comfort & Thayne together seeing as Thayne will be leaving next week reguardless. C.C.K (Comfort Contemporary Killer) strikes again!!! I just hope she stays one more week so Jessica can FINALLY get the boot. |

So...I just caught up with my Tivo.
And I know some people HATE Thayne...but I want to make out with him for some reason. Now, this is one of my favorite reality TV shows. So, I feel like something shifted this season, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I have always said that I'm okay with Nigel's manipulation, because it was still possible to overcome. For example, I 've said it before, I think that Sabra was meant to be cannon fodder...But she was able to overcome some of the other pimping and make an impression on the casual viewer insomuch that she won. This season, however, it is impossible to fight Nigel's pimping...IMPOSSIBLE. He set it up from the beginning, I think, to have the 5 "power" couples and the 5 couples who weren't meant to make it into the Final 10. And it truly is frustrating to see Will get a tongue bath, week after week...while also setting it up for Jessica to go once the Top 10 is set. Also, I would like to point out, IIRC, that both Comfort and Thayne have yet to dance in their signature style, which is a bit fishy to me. Now, I know that Twitch has not danced hip-hop yet...but I also feel like they were set up as the Ultimate Power Couple so it's neither here nor there. But, at the same tiem, they are a strong couple...and they have been bringing it every week, but it is a bit frustrating to know they were set up to have an incredible fan base...so a couple like Matt/Kourtni didn't stand a chance. And now I worry about Courtney/Gev...because I feel they were always set up to be in the Final 3 when the other non-power couples got eliminated. I dunno, this is definitely the first time I've seen the blatant and outright manipulation by Nigel...because he's made it so obvious. And Twitch is ten times hotter than Will with his shirt off. |
