I seriously think this guy is awesome. They wouldn't let him adopt, so he blew their minds and did it the old-fashioned way. Intersexed or transgender
people shouldn't be forced into a precise sex role.

did he even try to adopt? I thought he kept the uterus because it was always his wish to have children.

Back when the story broke, I read somewhere that they wanted to have a kid, but no agency would consider this kind of couple. I don't know how extensively
they got into it before they decided to make a baby instead. I don't know, Loki, I'm not an expert, just a liberal dipstick!

i wish i could give birth too and would do it if there's some easier option available, but that doens't make me a woman. Precisely. Wishing you're a woman doesn't make you one. I'm glad we agree. |

Fucking wrong...just wrong. If you feel that you are a man, then you don't give birth to a women. These freaks want it both ways. It is bullshit. One or
the other, not both.

Why is it so hard for Nomi to understand that you are NOT a man if you still have a vagina, ovaries, and you can conceive and give birth to a child.
That is not a man. |

We can't use stem cells for research but this is supposed to seem normal. I'm sooooo openminded, but this situation offends me.

I can't even begin to imagine how confused and probably embarassed the poor child is going to be when she gets older and see's all this press.

I can't understand why its so hard for people to accept that we no longer live in a world where everyone stays within well defined labels. A woman is no more defined as someone with a vagina as she is as someone who stays at home to do the cooking. I don't become somehow less human if all my arms and legs are cut off - labels don't depend on anatomy, but how one's brain is wired, and this guy isn't a woman just because he chose to keep his uterus when going through the surgery. |

Wow. This is exactly what they said when gays and interracial couple first wanted to adopt. Uhm no, there is nothing wrong, nor any confusion with having two people adopt a child in need. There is confusion and just plain old weirdness when you have a woman who is living as a man, but doesn't want to completely stop being a woman and keeps her female anatomy intact and has a baby. This whole thing is just very very out there and weird on so many levels. |

well racial skin color being discordant with one's racial identity isn't a medically identified condition. anatomical vs. self-identified gender is. so
the race analogy doesn't apply.

Pregnancy, labor, and delivery all create a dramatic hormonal shift, each in their own way. Will his milk come in? Will he have the "baby blues"? I don't judge this couple for what they've chosen, but it does create a lot of questions in my mind. [militant hippie mom] P.S. Just because the baby was delivered vaginally does not mean it was natural. Natural means no pain meds. [/militant hippie mom] |
