What is Gillis doing in Vancouver?
From the looks of it...absolutely nothing. |

So with Nasland's contract, I take it the Ranger's gave Jagr the middle finger and a cab ride outta town?

Thank god. Jagr was great in the playoffs but who needs a flaky prima donna who only starts playing in April?

heh, hope Sundin makes up his pussy widdle mind and decides whether he wants to play.
I think he believes after all is said and done he will get an offer to continue in Toronto. I think it is obscene that anyone would get offered 2 years /10 million per - and he refuses to take it. Does anyone here actually believe this meatball is a top 10 NHLer, let alone deserving of being the HIGHEST FRICKIN' PAID PLAYER IN THE NHL??? As sad as it is to be a lifelong Leafs fan. I do have pity for the vancouver / sundin retardation. I think Gina can take solace in the fact Sundin is more of flake than Jagr. |

He's either going to come back to Toronto or retire.
Clearly he doesn't care about winning a Stanley Cup. He just wants to be comfortable. I think he was pissed that the Leafs tried to get him to waive his NTC earlier in the year, so he's making them wait. Mats is a talented player, but he doesn't have the desire to win. If he did he would be packing his bags for Montreal or Detroit right now. |

The problem is, if Sundin does come back to the Leafs we'll be just good enough to miss out on the Tavares sweepstakes, but still nowhere near good enough
to make the playoffs.

Exactly. The moves made thus far, are absolutely consistent with prudent rebuilding, with under 29 year olds. Just what Cliff Fletcher said he would do. This
is the first time since the about 92/93 & 93/94 seasons, that I have liked what the Leafs have done before the season starts. This is the first 1/3 of the
process, the next third is 3 to 4 years of decent draft picks, mixed with another 3 or 4 core unrestricted acquisitions. Maybe a couple of 30 to 33 year old
veterans to give some grit and leadership.
I would be happy to see a young(er) Leaf team, not make the playoffs the next three seasons, who are working on their power play, speed, getting the kinks out of their game, and maturing on the ice. I like Hockey, not the boardroom drama we have swallowed for a decade and a half. A young team that is trying will be welcomed by someone sick of watching older overpaid players in their declining years who have turned into McCabe's or Tucker's. |

Thankfully the Rangers probably can't afford Sundin at this point either.

I am sure the Rangers can toss some talent away to free up cash for an overpaid whore. It's the Rangers way, isn't it?
