John Stape is quite a slimebag. I had a feeling he would be, only earlier than now. There were hints that he and Fiz had a relationship while she was still a schoolgirl. But what I see they're doing is having them be together and introduce a new young thing who is willing to be with him. For all we know he could be cheating on Fiz the way he cheated on some other woman when he started up with Fiz back in the day.

What about Gail and Audrey turning on Sarah like that? Poor thing. She doesn't realize what it's been like for David - even the audience hasn't been given an explicit rundown. But think about it - Sarah has been center stage ever since she got pregnant with Bethany. It is largely Gail and Martin's fault for pushing David aside time and again. How can it be right to demand that Sarah cede centerstage on her wedding day? The problems started so much earlier. It seems really wrong to me that Martin isn't more involved with these kids, but I guess that's how people often are.

The show is going through a catharsis when it comes to relationships. There's always some young girl in a group who is attracted to a man "everyone" would say is too old for her, and of her that she is too young for him.

You're right, Fiona. The couples don't have a lot of chemistry, do they? I think it's because of the existence of other people that we know about, so Fiz and John - we know he's cheating on her with Rosie. And with Liam and Maria, he troubled by the knowledge that Carla is attracted to him. Michelle and Steve already feel like a comfortable long married couple, with their ready-to-raise family of Amy and Ryan. Michelle is good behind the bar, tho and she is good with the other women who work there. Personally, I want Craig to come back lol, and end up with the younger daughter, Sophie.
