I love your mortar launchers LSoN! We gave up doing mortars when we mixed up the launchers and had them exploding at stomach level one year.
We go with the multi shot cakes now. (I see you have a few of those) We're gonna buy every kind of 500 gram cake they have! We just go booth to booth and get the vendors into a bidding war. They end up throwing in for free all the fountains and smaller stuff if you work it right. I love the 4th! |

I'm debating whether or not to head down to Santa Cruz. If I hear that the fireworks are dismal, I may just skip the beach and go to San Francisco,
although I doubt that to be the case. I've already seen the Fourth in SF and San Jose, so I want to do something different this year, but if all else
fails, SF it will be.

I didn't know about Bass Lake. I looked it up and it looks intriguing. I might do it next year, though, as this year finances just won't allow me to
travel all the way out to Yosemite and back for a day.

Dr. Salt, (whom I am again this year hoping will not blow a finger off since his livelihood depends on it) will manage to wire all those so that he lights one
fuse and walks away. They are all supposed to be mounted on the two doors, but I see we are going to have some "extras" that will be setting on the
ground.
Some friends were joking that they were going to get a Mythbusters clear explosive shield to watch them this year. At least I think they were joking. I choose to go in the house. I hate the noise. I think Chicago might see our fireworks that night. |

i'm having the family over for swimming and a bbq. we can see our towns fireworks if we go in the driveway, so we do that.
i'm gonna make stuffed burgers (blue cheese and cheddar/w bacon), hot dogs, sausage, and get fried chicken. with a bunch of salads. |

i just make a regular burger recipe, i make two thin patties. then i put blue cheese or cheddar and onion in the middle and put them together. people really
like them. i'm gonna make a greek type pasta salad, some fruit salad, some baked beans, and my sister's bringing the cole slaw and some desserts. i
MIGHT stop by the italian bakery on thursday for one of their giant cannolis. it's stuffed with little cannolis, and when it's empty, they give you a
thing of the stuffing and you can break apart the giant shell and dip it in that.

Going to the big fireworks in Red Bank...and it's their 100th anniversary, so it'll probably be bigger than ever. I plan on enjoying as much funnel
cake and zeppolis that I can.
And I'm sure someone will end up grilling on the 4th. |
