Compared to previous years, the AL isn't nearly as strong.
There are about 4-5 good teams and 4-5 awful teams in the league. The other 20 teams are reveling in mediocrity.
I don't know, watching him, it seems like he's lost his 'it' factor. He has no excitement whatsoever anymore. It's like the Mets clubhouse depresses him or something.
Fair point. He's pitching more like a #2 or #3 starter and not a top flight ace.
Frankly, I haven't been completely satisfied with his performance this season. He's allowing too many baserunners and has been victimized by the long ball. I wasn't here when it happened but there is no excuse for allowing a grand slam to an AL pitcher.
But yeah, the experts saying Santana is in decline is way too premature.
