Mark - Stop trying to be cool . . . and funny. You're neither. His voice sounds too low. And listening to him sing about being in love with a girl is
just laughable. This whole thing sucks. Yeah, Jake, it wasn't believable because it was a rock song
 . I love that the Zack doesn't even hide the fact that because of where Mark is
from, he'll probably be around a while.
Paul - This is really good. I'm liking the rasp this week. Loved the beginning. Drew - I'm torn between liking and hating this. Not a fan of the falsetto. The held note was nice. He does have an interesting voice. Marie-Pierre - Great tone, but she's missing some notes, and really hitting others. Very inconsistent in the beginning (more bad than good). Much better when the song picked up. Yeah, what Zack said. Mookie - I don't understand the first couple of lines. I have no clue what he's saying. His voice sounds weird. Sorry, but I'm not feeling this performance. Sebastian - Meh. He didn't sing it badly, but I'm really beginning to find his voice annoying. I'm over the whole "taking a dump" style of singing. Haha, he said dropping a load. Martin - OK, my favorite so far, but even then, it wasn't totally great. Just sung well. Lisa - Learn the meaning of subtlety please. She was way too into it from the first note. I just don't like her voice. Gary - Yeah, don't like him either. I guess I just really don't like the whole Canadian "dump" vibe. Bryan Adams is really the only one I can stand that does that. Gary sounded angry when singing the part that says "Mr. Bojangles." Amberly - Another vadge to close out. They're really hoping to keep at least a few around. I really want her to sing Lisa Loeb's "Stay." Not amazing, but better than most of what I heard tonight. I'd rank them, but why bother? |

It's almost unfair to Mark that they put him in the semis. It's blatantly obvious that they don't really like him and he's only there to
appease the Newfies so CTV won't have to hear the bitching and whining. Now he probably thinks he's better than he really is just because he was put in
the semis. They should have cut him before the semis, he's clearly not up to par with anyone else in the Top 24. Even the next worse person, Jesse imo
isn't nearly as awful as him.

Saskatchewan has no rep this year (and was virtually ignored during the audition stops). New Brunswick hadn't had one since Corpsey. And is PEI still part of Canada?

1. Amberly - <3 <3 <3 Perfect vocals & performance.
2. Piglet Jr - Smart guy!! He just oozes charisma and it was the perfect song for him. 3. Lisa - Arrangment made it a new song to me. LOVE HER! 4. Mookie - Cool vibe. Nice song choice. 5.Marie-Pierre - Moments were amazing!! Needs to work on her low notes. 6. Martin - Put me to sleep for a sec, but he sings really well. 7. Gary - It was a good song choice, but vocally I it could have been better. 8. Paul - Meh. 9. Drew - I don't understand the judges. He sounded HORRIBLE. 10. Mark - In Love With A GIRL???? Right.

It's sickening really that they have to give up a perfectly good space in the semis to some untalented twat just so a province won't hate mail them to death about it. For any Americans watching if there were no Newfoundlander in the Top 24 CTV would have been bombarded with idiots whining at them non-stop for the entire season just because they didn't put a Newfoundlander in the semis. Even if a contestant from there didn't warrant a spot it doesn't matter to them. They think they should always have contestants from NL on the show and basically that they should win every year. There have been two runner ups from NL simply because NL voted for them, they didn't even deserve to make Top 2 and you should hear the radio stations in NL the day after the results, or even the night of. Tons of asshats calling in and saying how X Newfoundlander should have won because they were so much better than X Contestant from elsewhere in Canada. Eva absolutely wiped the floor with Craig and deserved her win but people would not shut the fuck up about how Craig should have beaten her. The NL viewers of CI are completely deranged. |

Statistically, more people watch CI in Newfoundland than both the provinces of Ontario and Quebec combined.
That was reported by CTV. I attribute it to the "small-town" factor - it gives smaller, minuscule, province like Nfld the motivation and drive to make some sort of impact in the Canadian culture - whatever it may be - because historically Nfld is politically, geographically, and economically less significant compared to Ontario, Quebec, and BC (where ppl don't give a hoot about CI) and have always been given the short end of the stick everytime. |

I knew someone from western NFLD and they told me how the whole town is unemployed and they all collect their government bonuses of some sort that keep them
afloat every 2 weeks. I'm sure they have nothing else to do than to vote for Idol really.

They got rid of four people first week.
The performances air Monday and Tuesday at 8PM Eastern/Pacific The results show airs Wednesday 7:30PM Easter/Pacific So since the selection of the Top 24, you've missed four shows in total. |
