For some reason, the creepy little yelly fans think that if they lie enough about a person, and try to destroy them personally and professionally and every other way through the media, and on the net, that makes Yelly a better singer. Or sumthin. ('Cause obviously that's not working. lol).


Since this is a Carrie thread, here's some info on her second album, the one that's --- that's right --- NOT flopping. And I'm not even a Carrie fan, I'm totally neutral about her. But facts are facts:

Facts about Carrie's second album

- There is only one Idol album currently in the BB200 Top 40: Carrie's SECOND album (at #33 this week). Not Daughtry, not Jordin, sure as hell not Yelly --- of all the Idols, only Carrie.
- It has been in the BB200 Top 40 for 35 weeks now, that's 8 months straight, one week short of 9 months. Not a flop by any means.
- It is staying steady week to week, fluctuating with her singles' releases, but its steadily in the Top 40. (Carrie fans can probably tell you how long it was in the Top 20, Top 10, etc.): It is #33 this week, #33 last week, #32 the week before. Remember when Yelly was dropping 10-12 slots each week and her fans kept trying to tell us that was "staying steady"? lol, no, THIS is what "staying steady" means.
- It peaked at #1 of course, the week it was released
- Its still in the Top 10 in its genre, after all this time, at #6.

- All 3 singles from the album so far have hit #1 in their genre, giving Carrie 6 #1 hits so far, 3 from each album. And the last 4 were consecutive #1s. (Yelly has not come close to this distinction, in any way).
- The first single "So Small" is currently featured in a REALLY cute commercial, that may breath new life into it. .
- The second single "All-American Girl" was also marketed only to Country, and is still in the Top 100 on the Digital Download charts, which shows its consistent popularity, long after it was a resounding success on the country radio charts.
- The biggie though is this third single. It also hit #1 on Country, and as soon as that was accomplished she sang the hell out of it AI, and it is now poised to move up the Hot A/C, and Pop charts simultaneously when its officially released June 30th to those genres. It already hit the Top 20 on the Hot 100 (peak #18), but it may find its way back there soon.

Currently, it sits at: #5 on Country, and its already in the Top 100 on Pop at #91 right now, #60 on Hot A/C. It will go up rapidly.
It hasn't even been released yet in those latter genres, yet it doubled its spins this week.
Eight stations on Pop and Hot A/C have already added it to their regular rotations.

But here's where you really can understand the phenomenon that is Carrie Underwood: County has an audience HALF that of Pop. So everything Carrie's done, she's doubled what Kelly, for example, or Jordin, or what David Cook did in Pop, to get equivalent numbers on the overall charts (BB200 & Hot 100). With half the audience an artist has on Pop charts, those are phenomenal numbers

And this album has sold over 2.1 million copies in 9 months, and is still selling a steady 15,000 a week (approx.) each and every week. Obviously this is not a flop. So you're ridiculous when you call it a flop. Are you kidding, it's a label mogul's dream, and so is the beautiful Carrie. Get over it! They haven't even finished with it yet, no doubt, with more singles to come.

What Carrie did, that Yelly didn't, is take her opportunity to market herself as someone who actually looks like a real star, and acts like one. People are eating that up. Jennifer Hudson has also transformed herself, and always looks like a million bucks. Yelly could learn a few lessons from them. She needs to step it UP if she wants to compete with the likes of them.
