Gisela gave Elena a very good match, but the latter pulled it out.
Caroline's giving Jelena a GREAT match (she won the first set!) - will the top THREE women's seeds be gone after today? If JJ doesn't get it into gear, they will! If Jelena's being up a break in the 2nd holds, it'll (obviously) be winner-takes-all in the 3rd. This, for both the men and women, is one of the wackier Slams of recent memory that I can recall. |

Tipsy won the first set in a tie break 7-6 (1)!!!
And they are actually showing the match on ESPN. My guess is they will switch back to Jelena now. |

Petrova won the 1st set over Azarenka, 13-11!! What a heartbreaker! I don't mind who wins that one - I'm fine with both.
Jelena pulls out the win! I'm fine with Caroline, too, but I want Jelena to keep rolling - we need her to be playing well... 
The Janko - Dmitri match looks like it's going to come down to who'll be the one to break the other's serve - NONE thus far, I don't believe. It's a very tight match. Have fun with it, Jonesy... I've been up all night, and need to get to bed. Perhaps your two partners in Tipsy crime will show up for ya... my
suspicion is that they're both sound asleep right now.

Tipsy had two break points against Dmitri just now but didn't convert. I don't have ESPN360 so I'm watching the scores online. Ugh. I'm hoping
they will switch back over on ESPN2.
Yeah - that Petrova tie-break was amazing. Should be an interesting second set. I wonder if Jelena will be able to play or if she really screwed up her knee. eta: Sleep good AM. You can read all about it later. Hopefully there won't be anything too crazy.

I noted the same thing, Jonesy - it won't come back to haunt him, though. TWO tiebreaks for Janko. Dimitri's got to be massively demoralized right now. The stats on the match are very, very clean - no bad play, whatsoever. That 11th game of the 2nd set was a DOOZIE!!! ESPN360 - if you're computer savvy, you could temporarily use a proxy server today, to get yourself access to it. Nadia - Vic are also in another tiebreaker... (waiting)... Nadia wins it!! Jelena's got time to recover. OK, Janko officially finishes the 2nd set. Off to bed for real this time!! Have fun, you two.
