So, their solution for season three is the same as season two -- throw more characters on the pile! New powers! People like the powers! Just make more!

So far the only new character is that speedy bitch.
And Angela's a regular now. |

My point is, rather than add anyone new, why not deal with the cast they already have, which is fairly interesting (sans the new additions last season;
mayyyyybe Maya, but that's stretching it). Speedy bitch may be great, but we already have Electro Girl and BiPolarNikkiJessicaWhoever that need some work.
For a show that hates to be compared to Lost, they sure seem to be zipping right down the same problem filled highway.

ALL FROM GRENADEJUMPER!
Ali Larter on the set with Tim Kring, so that pretty much confirms that Niki/Jessica are back this season. YAY!!
And it looks like Claire's mom, Meredith, will be back this season: Question: How about throwing me a bone about Heroes? - Dee We got another addition to the cast! Francis Capra joins the cast as Jesse!
OK, now here's a Heroes newcomer I can get behind - if only because it could offer Veronica Mars fans a very special reunion. Francis Capra, aka the toughie 'Ron (and Mars viewers) loved to hate, is joining the NBC hit this season as Jesse. Shannon in Omaha, Neb.: It's been forever since we've heard new scoop about Heroes. Please oblige! Gee, well, I don't have much to tell, other than the fact that in the first three minutes one of the lead heroes is going to bust a cap off at one of the other lead heroes. And oh yeah, the guy she pulls the trigger on just might be the guy she's playing tonsil hockey with in real life. She also tells him (on cam), "I always loved you." Whaaa?! Figured it out? I know you have, so discuss in the comments below! Oh, and even more shocking? We're gonna see Claire-bear with dark hair and this also involves a shift in time. So very Lostalicious, no? Yep, it's true. Sources confirm that Francis Capra has been cast on Heroes. I've also exclusively learned that Veronica and Weevil-I mean, Elle and Jesse, do share at least one scene. Francis Capra and Kristen Bell together again? Hallelujah! My sources tell me Francis is doing a three-episode guest arc as villain Jesse Murphy, a thug who runs with a gang of two-bit criminals. However, Jesse is more than just a meathead. He does have a power. When and where will it be deployed? You'll have to watch to see. Want more dish on season three of Heroes? Click in for the goods: FYI, I'm hearing good things about the larger picture on Heroes this season: In particular, the Bennets and Petrellis are staying front and center, and they are totally up in each other's bidness-just the way we like them. Someone somewhere is definitely paying attention to the fans, and the resulting twists are so good it's killing me not to talk about them. Suffice it to say, there will be some shocking alliances and the appearance of at least one long-lost relative. Any guesses on which family member makes a surprise return? Post your pick in the comments! Bridget in Peabody, Mass.: Any Heroes stuff? I am dying to know what happens, and I can't wait until it comes back in the fall! Claire is not the only character on the show who is adopted. And the next adoption twist is perhaps my favorite twist ever on this show. You know how sometimes those silly promo guys say things like "It will change everything?" Well this one actually will. Patrick in Melbourne, Australia: I'm really desperate for some Heroes news. Any news on any characters like Monica and West? Monica will definitely be back, as will "Nana Dawson," aka the legendary Nichelle Nichols. However, in the first few eps, our time with them in New Orleans will be centered around their relationship with Micah. As for West (Nicholas D'Agosto), I couldn't swear to it in a court of law, but I'm fairly sure he's gone, at least for the time being. http://justjared.buzznet.com/2008/06/22/hayden-panettiere-gun/ http://justjared.buzznet.com/2008/06/22/milo-ventimiglia-slick-scar/ http://www.heroes-france.com/news_1214124120.htm And here's two VERY interesting picture ![]()
New interview w/ Tim Kring Tim Kring, creator and executive producer of NBC's Heroes, told SCI FI Wire that the upcoming third season will take the show and its characters in entirely new directions--including deep into the backstory. http://spoilertv-heroes.blogspot.com/2008/06/heroes-goes-deep-in-season-3.html From TV Guide Heroes Promises an "Unbelievable" Season 3 And the second one Jason Badower, online graphic novel artist for Heroes visited the set and watched this scene taking place: .As we came across another set I noticed that this one was densely populated. I stood in a hallway looking through into a room and could swear I recognised the man standing in the next room. It was Zachary Quinto. Sylar himself. He was talking to someone who had their back to me. When she turned around I recognised the petite blonde as Hayden Panettiere (Claire). I was shocked and elated at seeing these two. Then from around the corner walked Jack Coleman (Mr Bennet) to complete the trinity! They proceeded to block out a scene with the director and crew. I asked Ollie if I could go closer and he shrugged a confirmation. I edged around and joined the rest of the crew. They proceeded to play out a very, VERY interesting scene that made me break out in a huge grin with its implications. And the last one: From Watch w/ Kristin Tessa in Kansas City, Mo.: Kristin, will Ali Larter definitely be back on Heroes this season? Last we saw her she was in an explosion, if I remember correctly. Here's the new new PROMO! http://www.heroes-france.com/news_1214992957.htm And Behind the Eclipse is back for the summer. They're going to be answering questions for the rest of the summer YAY!! Here's the first batch of questions with more coming tomorrow: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=17061 Here it is in HD for you all!! Behind the Eclipse part two is up! http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=17075 I'm most happy about this little tidbit: Sylar did not absorb Candice's power. Or Michelle'. Or Betty's. He will not get her power back when he reboots (although the Charlie theory is pretty rad). We'll be exploring exactly what Sylar does (and does not do) with the brain in the first hour of the new season Another promo! A couple new spoilers! From TV Guides Sci-Fi preview issue - Heroes' season premiere night on Sept. 22 will start with a one-hour special with previously unseen clips. - Villains is a 13-episode story arc. "It's not as obvious as its title might sound," Zachary Quinto reveals. "There's an event at the Company that releases a whole host of Level 5 prisoners - all very dangerous killers - but 'Villains' will cast a much wider net than that. We'll explore the darknes and villainy in everybody. Even the good guys. Each has a line - what does it take to cross it?" - The season premiere picks up right after the "Powerless" cliffhangers. - Hiro will inherit his father's business empire and has a new nemesis, Daphne (Brea Grant), who moves at supersonic speed. - Claire's mother Meredith returns to teach Claire how to protect herself after an attack from Sylar. - We'll see a flash-forward to the future in which Clare becomes "mean, damaged and kinda nuts," as Hayden Panettiere reveals. "Future Claire is a real bad ass." From Kristen @ E! Tom in Orlando: I thought Linderman was dead on Heroes, but then I heard Malcolm McDowell say he's returning. WTF? Let's just say our beloved Nathan Petrelli has a brush with death (you saw that last season) and when he comes back...Wait, what was I saying again? For some reason I just started thinking about that movie with Bruce Willis where the kid sees dead people. What was that called again? That was an awesome movie. Hmmm, I wonder why my mind just went there. Old age is a Lady. Anyway, in other news, Ali Larter is coming back as a totally different person (i.e. doppelgänger), meaning someone who is not Niki or Jessica or Gina (my head is hurting), and with a whole new power. And Claire's bio-madre Jessalyn Gilsig is also returning. Mike in Anchorage, Alaska: Quick, give us something good on Heroes! How about some dirt on my favorite, Suresh? Oh, twist my arm and force me to talk about one of TV's hottest men. Mohinder Suresh has a lot coming up this season, including a love connection with a female Hero we already know (together, they are hot as fire). And let's just say that if you had a sneaking suspicion Suresh might have some kind of superability, you would not be wrong at one point this season. There is more to him than meets the eye, but he ultimately may need to "scale back." (Note the quotes and try to figure out what the bejeezus I'm talking about in the Comments below.) Here's the promo for the new web series, the first episode airs Monday. Apparently the lead character in the series will end up being a villain. Two new promos: From Spoiler TV http://spoilertv-heroes.blogspot.com/2008/07/lots-of-season-3-spoilers.html: Today I come fresh from BBC Two's Autumn launch, where us journo types were treated to a world exclusive, never-seen-before, you-will-be-castrated-if-you-secretly-record-this-and-upload-it-to-youtube preview of Heroes season three. As I value my intimate regions quite highly, I'm afraid that what follows is the best I can do. A warning: spoiler-phobes should look away now. # Nathan Petrelli is apparently dead. We see him rushed to hospital, where resuscitation attempts fail. "There was nothing we could do," a doctor tells the family. I don't believe it. # Looks like Elle (Kristen Bell) is going to be spending a bit of time sparring with Sylar this season. # Angela Petrelli introduces us to "Level 5", a housing place for the most dangerous criminals in the world - rapists, arsonists, killers. Presumably this is where the band of Villains escape from. # Matt Parkman is alone in the middle of a desert screaming for help. # New Villain 'The Speedster' steals something from Hiro and quips, "Gotta run." # Is Sylar in league with Angela Petrelli? In one short clip he is seen approaching her from behind and placing his hands on her shoulders. # Linderman is back with a prophecy of doom. "The second coming is at hand," he warns. # And, perhaps the most shocking tease of all: a big bald man, incarcerated in Level 5, shouts: "I'm not who you think I am. I'm Peter Petrelli..." The third season of Heroes will play out on BBC Two and BBC Three (and BBC HD) from the end of September, with a delay of just eight days on the original US broadcast. The season will comprise two "volumes", each containing 13 and 12 episodes respectively. |

Is that the guy in Level 5 that says he's Peter? Mama Petrelli sure got around... |

Well that makes me think of someone being a Body Jumper/Switcher. That would certainly be one way to take omnipotent Peter out of the Good Guy pool, by taking
his body and powers, stranding him in a now powerless and different looking one. (Though he'd absorb the power himself prior to switching, and could
eventually learn to switch out by himself.)

Spoilers from the San Diego Comic Con where they screened most of the first episode of the third season (copied from Superhero Hype):
- The shooter of Nathan Petrelli from last season was revealed - Peter Petrelli from the future - Nathan is revived... and has a vision from God. Believing he's an angel on God's mission, he is set up to be some sort of religious zealot in subsequent episodes - Sylar corners Claire in her house. Despite hitting Sylar over the head and stabbing him, she's caught. In a scene that drew gasps and revulsion from the audience, we see Sylar probing her brain as she twitches on a table. Claire, who is conscious, asks, "Are you going to eat it?" Sylar responds, "Eat your brain? Claire, that's disgusting." He then steals her invulnerability, then puts her skull cap with the hair back on her head (to more groans). I think someone in the audience got sick after seeing the scene - Suresh develops a serum to give humans powers and injects himself, thus giving him super strength - Hiro takes over his father's company and discovers a secret formula in his father's safe... which is promptly stolen by a new speedster character. When Hiro travels to the future to see the results, he sees his future self confronting Ando over the formula... then Ando shocking him with a red bolt of electricity - HRG is shown in a prison cell while Nikki is shown as the mistress of a Governor - Parkman discovers Peter shot his brother, but Peter then zaps him into a far away desert

So the powers come from the adrenal glands, and not from the DNA!? Interesting! If you think about it, that makes a lot more sense, then it just being
random DNA, since our adrenal glands are the part of the body that are in charge of our "fight or flight" mentality.

It makes perfect sense since with most of them their powers would kick in when they were scared or in danger. Those are the times when your adrenaline starts
kicking in

Exactly.
I never even thought about that during the first two seasons. |
