I also have to ask why Gretchen over Colleen? Yeah, that's what Vee wants, but since when did Vee control what John thinks/decides (and remember, he is the
decision maker here)? If I were John, I'd be scared to death of Gretchen since she'd be the only player I had no control over aside from the more
obvious reasons that she's a physical threat and is highly motivated. If Colleen is kicked out, she'd be an emotional wreck, thoroughly depleted and
would be no obstacle. Why on earth would you kick out Gretchen who would have felt guilty and would be out for revenge over Colleen who basically would be
really upset and (knowing her) probably over the game in general? I don't see why Vee says "listen John, Colleen has to go" and John just says
okay when it's clearly in his interests to have Colleen around rather than Gretchen...

She's the bigger threat, and there's no way Vee, Tina or John want to face a Keko in the end because it means they screwed over the others. Even
Alicia, no way they want to chance it. Tina will solve this problem, she'll even solve Colleen from thinking about straying. I have faith in Wesson.
This Colleen is teflon/unbeatable is 11th hour highjinks. Colleen/Tina/Vee have been the best characters -come on, sensei. come on, you can do it. go to
the light, move away from the darkside...

Since when did I say that Colleen was guaranteed to be the boot this episode? The only thing I've written is up to the point where Vee suggests Colleen be next. I haven't written anything after that. Colleen still COULD go home (and I think she probably will) but I haven't actually written that yet. There are still a couple of important variables that have yet to come into play. Mainly, what John and Tina want to do about this? At this point in the episode we know what Alicia, Gretchen, Colleen and Vecepia have decided. What about the other two? How do their wants and needs fit in? I have a pretty good how the rest of the episode is going to work out, but I'm not saying anything because I don't want it appear that anyone has been able to sway me. |

why would John also believe Alicia? Sure, they've palled around, but she has only two people left with most likely her or Gretchen going home, and now she
has immunity. Wouldn't he expect her to make this type of play to try to shake it up? Whereas why would Colleen switch from John's point of view-
she'd lose, and Colleen has been lead to believe she's a two block with him in final four. They've been bosom buddies. If she wanted to screw AHi
over she could have done it last episode or the one before, but she never did. He's got to be thinking somewhat, "yeah, nice try Alicia, but let me
get the story from Colleen first..." Maybe if Alicia said Vee or Tina, but not John as Colleen's vote. He'd be like, "what the fuck?
that's stupid."

Not to give too much away, but John's part in this episode is far from over. I've warned you guys over and over about this. Stop jumping ahead of
yourself. I know exactly what he is going to do and say on day 33. I've had the "John" part of this episode written in my head for a long time
now.

Sensei, who would ever try to sway you? You're smart, handsome, funny, godlike enough to know how to make smart decisions.
And if you ever need an extra kidney... |

I would like to point out that I have had the major details of this episode (conversations, decisions, reactions) planned out for a long time now. Keep in
mind that whatever happens in the rest of this episode had nothing to do with the conversation on this board. The only thing that has been up in the air was
the boot choice. Expect me to figure that out when I get back to writing this (which, unfortunately probably won't take place until next week -- fricking
work training.)

My apologies, Mario. I thought the Colleen boot had already been decided.
And CL, I still think no matter what Kathy would vote for Alicia, even if she screwed over Gretchen. |

I have always thought Kathy would vote for Alicia. Please remember I was never saying that. I was saying Alicia would be worried or question getting her vote
if she made a play against gretchen like this. That's all.
I've never tried to look beyond Day 33 -just the mind set of the six people left on that day. I meant Alicia would be pissed but a part of her would say, "shit I can't make this play right now, or I might screw myself in six days from now." It was never about Kathy, it was about Alicia's mindset based on the history of the game. don't worry, you still get a christmas present. |

Once again responding to your pop culture blog: you should check out Christopher Titus if you haven't already. Last I checked, he's got at least two
hour-long comedy specials if you search for "Norman Rockwell is Bleeding" and "Christopher Titus' End of the World Tour" on Google
Video. Also, upon looking at the Meow video, the guy DID say it ten times before the final one, I think.

Another pop culture note from your overrated 80s movie list: one of the reasons Red Dawn is remembered is because it was the first PG-13 movie.

Just wanted to drop in and say that during the wait for the next Hawaii episode I started reading your Greece story and it is really well written and very
enjoyable. I like the second chances aspect and the fact that you develop characters on your own that weren't really developed on the show.

Hey thanks. Yeah I've always said that of all the stories I have ever written, Greece is my favorite. It's not as epic and as soap opery as Hawaii,
and it isn't as good and memorable as Alaska, but it holds a special place in my heart because I put a lot of time into it. I really wanted to give
something back to all the players who were cast on the show but never had a chance to ever have a storyline. So even though Greece is probably the least
memorable of my three stories, it has always been my favorite. There was a lot of love and effort I put behind that one.
By the way, here's a trivia note. The fact that Greece was not as well received as Hawaii or Alaska is pretty much why I retired from writing these stories in the first place. I loved that story with all of my heart, and all I got for the most part when it came out was "We want another Alaska. Screw Greece. Write about All-Stars." Rob Cesternino (who was normally a big fan of my stories) even went as far to say he never read Greece because he "didn't want to read about losers." So anyway, yeah that's pretty much why I stopped writing these stories. I retired because I thought the readers were getting too spoiled. It wasn't fun anymore. |

I did enjoy Greece, but not as much as the other two. I do think that part of it had to do with less memorable characters, even though there were still people
I liked and cheered for (John Raymond, for example). However, I think I disliked the fact that you went away from randomizing the winners (because one tribe
was too stacked, I know, but still, not as fun) and that you essentially styled the win for Tanya (who you modeled after former Energia del Sol, if I remember
correctly). But then again, it was the first time where the person who I didn't want to win, won.

Yeah Greece was the first story that was really a drama more than anything. I randomized the winners for a few of the challenges, but for the most part I
knew one of the tribes was going to kick the crap out of the other one. Not because I liked one tribe more than the other one, but because it was just common
sense. The tribe with Hunter and Gabriel and Stephanie was going to be pretty much unstoppable.
That being said, however, I did NOT stack the story for Tanya to win. Once we hit the merge, I randomized everything. Once we got down to 10 characters, it was just like every other one of my stories. I didn't know Tanya was going to win until we got down to the final three. Up until then, I was pretty sure it was going to be Peter. Tanya winning surprised me as much as it surprised you. And yes, Tanya was modeled after Energia del Sol from Survivor Sucks, but the fact that she also won was just a coincidence. I only did that because I wasn't sure how to write her character. I was much tighter with Gabriel and Peter than I was with Tanya. I only spoke to her for the first time right before the final episode. |

I was satisfied with the Tanya win and felt she deserved it second to only John. I really liked the season but my only problem was that I read it and
haven't read Alaska yet and the winner was spoiled in the reunion. Oh well I'll probably read it anyway.

Note: I was in training class at work all last week, so unfortunately I haven't touched Hawaii in like 10 days. But I should get back to it today. I am
leaving on vacation in 8 days, so I would like to get this episode up and posted before I leave. We'll see if I can get it done.

Okay i finished the working copy today, and I'm still aiming for a final copy posting date of Monday. We'll see if I make it. I leave for vacation on
