Haven't read anything yet, but watching now:
Lindsay - Bar performance. This is not good . . . at all. And her "performing/dancing" is atrocious, as are those boots. Martin - It was good. Not great, not terrible. Just good. I do like the tone of his voice. Gary - Yes, he can rock, but I think this is going to get old very quickly. If he can show that he can do something different, I'll be impressed. I don't know how much actual singing there was over growling. I agree with what Jake said. Tetiana - Feelings? Seriously? I feel she tries too hard to be different. Just be different. Saying that, I like the jazzy vibe to this arrangement. I liked it more than I thought I would. Mitch - I can't tell if I really love or hate his tone. A little nasally/whiny. Another just "ok" performance. Paul - OK, I've decided I do like the tone of his voice. My favorite so far. Earl - He's goofy. He's too tall to sit on a stool; he looks hunched over. He sounds like the guy from Counting Crows. Good singing, but I just couldn't get into it. Still good, though. Lisa - Did not like the first "looooooooove" or "come on." I don't know, I expected more from her. There were some ok parts, but the "looooooooves" were just not good, in my opinion. Mookie - Ballsy song choice. How very Ferris of him. I like his voice, but wish he would've done something else. Better than Gary, but I again hope he can do more. Drew - He's not trying to do Adam Levine, so that's good. Maybe he should've. Better than Lindsay and Lisa, but that's about it. Oliver - Stop shaking whatever you're shaking. I'm just not as big of a fan of his growl that others are. This is a complete "I'm trying to drop a big load" performance. Katherine - Really? They gave the pimp spot to her? Love the song, and she sang it a helluva lot better than I expected. It's actually my favorite tonight. Ranking: 1. Katharine 2. Paul 3. Mookie 4. Earl 5. Tetiana 6. Martin 7. Mitch 8. Gary 9. Oliver 10. Drew 11. Lisa 12. Lindsay |

Lindsay Barr: What the frak was that? Awful way to start off the season.
Martin Kerr: It took me forever to recognize the song, and while he did it justice it was pretty damn boring most of the way through. Gary: I really have no idea how anyone is supposed to judge that. It was completely off the wall and not very entertaining to watch or to listen to. He kind of reminds me of a much less talented Jacob Hoggard. Tetiana: I loved this bitch's audition. I don't even know what the hell that was. The performance was incredibly boring and her vocals struck me as weak in places. I'd like her to get a second chance, but not based on that. Mitch: When he said he was singing "Follow Through," I almost had an orgasm. When I heard his voice on it, I almost vomited. Awful choice for his tone, and while he emoted well, I can't forgive him for mangling the song so badly. Paul: Loved it. I have a feeling Canada won't have enjoyed it at all, but I thought it was one of the strongest of the night. Earl: Honestly, writing this the morning after, I don't remember a thing about the performance. But I remember liking it when it was on. Lisa: Loved it. Girlfriend totally brought it. And seeing as she didn't sing R&B, there's a *small* chance she might actually last until next weekend, when she heeds the judges' advice and goes back to her roots. Jackasses. Mookie: Easily the best performance of the night. If he released that as a single right now, I bet he would have a shot at #1. This guy's in it for the long haul. Drew: It was good enough, but I've never been a fan of the song and the vocals weren't completely spot on. He deserves to stick around another week. Oliver: Well, it was hot to see him playing with his crotch the whole time. My ears were bleeding though. Katherine: The verses were good, the chorus was AWFUL. If she hadn't gone last, she'd be going Wednesday for sure. Overall, not a great night. Paul, Earl, Lisa and Mookie are the only ones who deserve Top 10 so far, IMO. |

Earl
Mookie Mitch Katherine Paul Martin Gary Lisa Tatiana Drew Lindsay Oliver This order represents a combination of how they did last night and how badly I want to hear them (or not hear them) again. Earl and Mookie were ahead by a mile, for me. I can't imagine why Lindsay chose to sing what she did last night. I believe she has the talent but she sure went off the rails. I was hoping she'd do a rock number. I really like Mitch though. He needs to step it up more but he has a vibe I appreciate. |

1. Earl - He has everything. Perfect vocals, Perfect personality!! <3
2. Lisa - Did a great job. Loved her vocals. 3. Tatiana - She won me over. Cool vibe and had a unique tone. 4. Gary - Could have been better vocally, yet he looked like a pro. 5. Martin - Pretty good at the end, but the start was wobbly and shaky. 6. Mitch - Didn't really care for his thin voice. It was just so-so. 7. Oliver - Disappointed, moments were great but like Jake said "he was over.the.top" 8. Mookie - Meh. Not really feeling his vocals. 9. Lindsay - Eek!! She sounded hella flat. But looked good. 10. Paul - I liked his song choice, but HATE his voice!!! 11. Katherine - Blech. Don't understand why the judges creamed over her. She shouted the whole song IMO. 12. Drew - Fodder. Send Home: Drew, Katherine, Paul, Lindsay & Mitch and I'll be happy. |

Ok, just watched. Maybe i expected far too much, but overall the night sucked.
1.Mookie - far and away the best. 2.Mitch - I don't care what anyone says, he did a fine job with that song. I love his tone and he could make any song sound good. That being said, I don't think Gavin Degraw is his style of music, and he needs to go back to what he is best at. 3.Gary - It entertained me at least 4.Martin - Solid 5.Earl - Ditto 6.Drew - He gave it a decent attempt I think, the main problem was the backup singers overpowering him. Much like mithc, I don't think this is hist syle. But he deserves another shot. 7.Lisa - meh 8.Oliver - Huge letdown, I hope he doesn't become the Dwight Deon of season 6. I expected so much more 9.Katherine - meh x 2 10.Paul - He could have done a lot better, it was very boring 11.Lindsay - Awful, but funny at least. Plus she looked good 12.Tatiana - Snoozeville Brain: Lindsay and Drew Heart: Katherine and Lisa Gut: Drew and Mitch |

Overall quite disappointed in last nights performances. There were a whole lot of nerves going down last night. I thought Katherine was going to shake her mic
right out of her hand she was so wound up.Most disappointed in 2 of my favs Lindsay and Oliver. And with Mookie the crappy 60's shake em up style crap
songs they chose. yeeuuck!
So my list goes: 1. Earl- hyuck, hyuck, hyuck... wow, he comes across as thicker than a ton of bricks, but he has killer voice 2. Tatiana-surprised me, hate that song and she reworked it and had some nice tones 3. Paul- thin voice in that performance, but still is soo talented 4. LISA!! go girl! 5. Drew very tough song 6. Gary get rid of the 'tude bro' 7. Oliver-awwww, but he is so damn hot 8. Lindsay-- bigger awwwww- sucked big bananas 9. Martin- too nervous and his skinny neck to big head is so f'ing distracting 10. Katherine--zzzzzz 11. Mitch- seen it before.. and he looks like Red Green's sidekick Earl 12. Mookie- If Montana didn't deserve to get through last year, neither does this guy..so there! |

Sorry for the late comments, I just watched it (St-Jean yesterday)
Tatiana - Hot and decent vocals. A keeper. But why does she have a black girl's name? What's next? A white girl named Laqueesha Piggy - Why is this gut uberpimped again? Way too fake and over the top. Shitty vocals. It was actually akward, like someone drunk at a party who all of a
sudden tries to impress people. He insists upon himself. He insists upon himself.

Jesse: I genuinely forgot about this by the end of the break. I don't remember being offended by it, for what it's worth.
Mark: I really, really wanted to hate him. But the vocals were almost universally awesome (with the exception of a couple of AWFUL notes). Watching him, however, was revolting. Jessica: Girlfriend fucking brought it. Only Mookie from last night was anywhere near as good. Shaun: The vocals were actually really good, but I absolutely, unabashedly abhor this song. Lindsay: It started off well, but her vocals got hella screechy and hella thin when she hit the pre-chorus, and then stayed that way. Pretty weak over all.

They can all sing, but the only person who got the song choice right was the youngest. Those "seasoned performers" are over-thinking it. |

Omar: That was the quintessential reason to hate R&B singers on CI. He chose the wrong song for his voice, he tried to do WAY too much and some of the
flourishes led into bum notes. Transcendent my ass.

Marie-Pierre: I wasn't blown away, but it was solid. I'd like to see her stick around, but being from Québec...it wasn't strong enough to be worth
getting my hopes up. And Ben's little gesture there was slightly unnecessary.
