Just wanted to tell you all about the Top Chef Tour.
We went this morning to see the one here in Los Angeles, and we had such a great time. Antonia and Richard were the featured chefs, and they were both very nice, down to earth, personable, approachable, and funny. They did a cooking show for us and Antonia made duck with raddichio and a frisee salad with shitake mushrooms, and Richard assisted her. I got to sit front row center, and my knees were literally touching the back of the stove they were using. It was very cozy and personal and the food was amazing. They answered questions and chatted the whole time, and dished on Lisa (they both said she isn't really that bad LOL), Andrew (yes, he is really that hyper in real life), and also that neither of them applied to be on the show but were approached and interviewed. They signed items that we purchased at their little Top Chef shop and also had headshots they were signing and were also taking pics with us. If you have the chance to check it out, you should, it was a very fun time. |

I just ate at Spike's new restaurant this weekend. We didn't bone but we were both wearing the same jeans, so I think its just a matter of time.
Anyhow the restaurant is pretty cool, open kitchen, and Spike was behind the counter schmoozing and barking out orders. Weird to see him after watching the show. He was wearing one of his hats, natch, and was pretty chill/funny. It was really busy, but not sure how many people actually knew it was a Top Chef guy's show, but it didn't really seem like people were stalking him (besides me <3). The food was really good though, the menu is basically all burgers, but they're mainly unique ones with trendy toppings and shit. Spike's special fries or whatever they were called were really fuckin good. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is ever in D.C. <3 Spike <3 |
