Not if it's in terms of casting. You can't say our cast went missing en route can you?

"Back to basics" = "all of our supplies went missing"

I'll believe the "no mactors" stuff when I see it.
Remember, they said they were casting "hardcore Survivor fans" last season, and we saw how that turned out. Not that it wasn't a good season, but aside from Erik I don't think any of them were true Survivor fans. |

Tracy was definitely a hardcore fan (and player).
With 3 tribes, the best way to use the Idol would be at the merge, like in Guatemala. Exile led to it being found by members of Tribal majorities, leading to it being pretty useless pre-merge, so its not like a delayed introduction would screw with anyting. Also, with so few tribemembers, an Idol could get very ugly very fast. No one wants to see a tribe of 2 go to TC, only for someone to pull out the Idol and bypass the tiebreaker. |

If there will be 3 tribes of 6, that would be cool since it's never been done before and if that would really happen, I hope that there's no tribal
switch.

Well China was the only season post Palau that broke from the ratings decline. That's because of the editing and amazing location. Micronesia dropped
probably because the idols were too confusing for a casual viewer.
I personally don't think "Gabon"(er) is a location draw because... who the fuck ever heard of that??? I think this season's success is going to depend heavily on advertising and the characters in it. If we can get as good of a cast as China and they go back to China-style editing, then it's likely to be a success. |

I think Gabon has the potential to be more successful than China if they advertise it emphasizing the wild animals and the "wild Africa" aspect. People have been wanting to see a really exotic and dangerous location for awhile now. Personally, I don't think China was a great location, just b/c it doesn't really come to mind when I think of "surviving." |

I hope thye ditch exile island/idols for this season, it'll be refreshing. If what they are reporting about casting a wider range of people like back in
the beginning it'll be a nice change from the mactors/recruits.

I agree that if they get some China-type characters and good editing, this could be a great season.
Im sure that it being in HD wont hurt too. If they advertise it enough, people with an HDTV might want to tune in just to see it. |

Those TV Guide interviews with Probst were from after Micronesia filmed. Filming hasn't even started for the new season yet. Probst and the contestants should be leaving for Gabon next week. What does that have to do with exile island or idols? |

Doesn't filming start on June 23rd?

The 23rd is a very good guess and most likely. Mondays are the starting day and June 30th would put the end on August 8th. Since this site is so remote we
might not really know for sure. The Marooning could be by sea or land...maybe a sea marrooning followed by a land hike through the jungle. If SurvivorMaps
is right the camp sites will be inland.

TV Guide will send their crew to interview Jeff Probst on location right after filming begins which could be as soon as tomorrow. From the rumors that I've read at Survivor Skills, Exile Island and the Hidden Immunity Idol will not be in use during the new season. |
