Yeah, I'm not really clear on why all the outrage over Susie/Marquis going home...They weren't the best dancers on the show at all, and I feel both of them lacked in the personality department. And it's not like Comfort and Chris are long for the show either...Comfort does not even compare to the Hip Hop skill that our girl Sarah brought last year...and Chris's contemporary isn't on par with what every other male dance can do in ther genre.
And comparing Marquis to Neil, to me, isn't fair. I just feel that although Neil was Mr. Trick, he was cleaner in those tricks, AND had personality to go with it.
In my case, the outrage is the same as always prior to the top 10, when the judges make their cuts. It's completely arbitrary! If they want dancer A to
stay over dance B and A had more technical skill while B was more fun/personable, then they keep skill. If they want to cut A, then suddenly personality
matters far more than skill. If Neil does a bunch of gymnastics tricks, and they want to keep him, then it doesn't matter that his solo was all tricks.
But when Marquis does a bunch of amazing tricks, suddenly tricks aren't enough to keep you in. Essentially, the judges already have decided their top 10
and are determined to get it. The only way they don't get 100% of what they want is when they make a mistake with the pairings (like last year with Lacey
and Kameron). Clearly, he was cast as cannon fodder, but the audience never let the judges get him because Lacey was always safe. Similarly, Jesus was cannon
fodder last year, but the audience kept voting for him and Sarah. So they decide to give them krump (the kiss of death), put them first, and get Jesus in the
bottom three and cut him.
That's why I was hoping Will would end up bottom three again, so I could see what lame excuse they came up with this time to keep him again over AMerica's wishes.
