I would 'gasm if that was true, but I doubt it, especially after the "success" of Micronesia.

Yeah, after the "record number of blindsides" I doubt they will be getting rid of the HII anytime soon. I can hope though.

So that means only actual applicants will be casted for gabon? Cause that would be awesome, maybe this season will cast some actual fans. lt will be nice to
see people of various ages instead of typical pretty faces of LA. Good cast= Good season. and exile island is played out for right now so im glad they will
chill out on that. (but they will bring it back trust me)

They might be modifying the HII twist instead of completely getting rid of it. Like, one idea I've had of how to switch it up a bit is, instead of having
one (or two) actual idols, give the survivors clues to hidden tokens or something like that. Then there would be around 6 or 7 hidden tokens, and one, two, or
three alone would be powerless, but four tokens would equal an HII. Or if they wanted two possible HIIs then do 3 tokens=1 HII.

Probably the reason why they are getting rid of Exile Island and the Hidden Immunity Idol this season is because of the location. They seemingly have set-backs
with the wildlife and it wouldn't be fun for the strandee(s) to have a run in with apes or hippos. Also, it might simply just help them with the
production, making it easier to film as they get back on their feet after trying to deal with the problems. You might see Exile Island and the HII back in
season 18, provided it is near a water body (lake/sea).

LMAO at the tokens idea. That's just ridiculous and confusing. And I think they might just be wanting to simplify the show, because even though
production considered Micronesia a success, there was a significant ratings drop.

Simple reason for the HII/Exile being gone- They're doing 3 tribes and the HII / Exile would eat too much airtime up pre-merge.

Yeah, this season actualy looks promising. -no exile- basic casting -possible 3 tribe divide (which means more tribe air time and better edits for the
contestants- good location and theme for africa -and shooting in HD, now all thats needed are better and uniqe challenges and cool tribe names and this season
could pull off better and higher ratings!!!

I would be fine if they done the Guatemala version of the Hidden Immunity Idol. I thought it was a good twist where they just hid it in the jungle. Also it
wasn't overpowerful like the Exile Island/Cooks Island idol.

The word so far is that are returning to the basics of Survivor Borneo for casting with a diverse age range. This means no stunt casting or mactors. Also, Exile Island and the Hidden Immunity Idol will not be used in Survivor Gabon.Oh.My.God. I'm so excited if this is true... |

The hidden immunity idol was probably in one of the lost shipping containers, so they said "Fuck it, let's just scrap the whole 'hidden idol'
twist."
