I was hoping for her arch-nemesis Christine to pop out from the shadows and tell Messica that she was brought back to take the final slot away from her again.

Jessica SheppardUpdated Wed. Jun. 18 2008 11:39 AM ET Jessica Sheppard has a pretty good idea what it takes to be the next Canadian Idol. "It will take a lot of focus, and it's a challenge that I'm willing to overcome and take head on." Jessica is definitely not a stranger to overcoming challenges. Last season, in one of the most tense moments of Canadian Idol's Top 100 eliminations, Jessica was the last competitor cut before the Top 22 reveal. She raised the bar of her performances this year, learning from her experience in Season 5 in order to earn her spot in this year's Top 24. "I laid it all out on the line and gave the judges everything I held back the previous year," she says. "I realized that I had nothing to lose and only a dream to gain. How could I give them anything less?" Jessica is currently a college student studying to become a Drug and Alcohol Counsellor, choosing her studies as a way to reach out and help people who are in a difficult place in their lives. Jessica also finds that her singing gives her the opportunity to be a positive influence on those around her. "I want to become a singer so that I can reach people on a different level, to show them that they're unique and beautiful, and inspire them if they've lost faith." When it comes to musical tastes, Celine Dion and Luther Vandross are among her favourites, as well as Mariah Carey, whose classic song "Hero" has been an inspiration for her since she first heard it. When not singing, Jessica spends most of her free time eating all kinds of foods. Jessica has taken a lot of time to reflect upon what being in the Top 24 means to her. "This competition has changed me for the better," she says. "I finally have a chance to be what I've always wished. It's like a dream come true." |

Jessica's stupid if she thinks listing her hometown as Toronto will help her out. She's from Whitby, and she'd probably get get more regional votes
from than. She won't get fuck all from TO.

Well, they've got her listed from Whitby in the 24 visage montage thingamajig.

I live in America, but from past seasons I know NF contestants go far.
How does Jessica's region rank on the "Krazy KKKanada Vote Scale"? |

if you watch her original 2007 audition shes from bowmanville, where she went to high school with me, and she moved to tdot in the past year. no fucking idea
why it ever said whitby though...

My indifference is turning into dislike. Though my full on hate is reserved for Mark Gay.

I'm voting for Jessica. She is the most interesting out of all the bland pussies this year. Plus, I wanna see her moms ultra meltdown when they actually
think she has a shot at winning and doesn't. I hope they capture it on camera.

She really has no shot at winning this considering the amount of talent they stacked this year. The judges put her on this season for laffos.

true and to get her to stop auditioning. I don't mind her overall, I thought she was robbed by Christine in retrospect.

Yeah the judges don't even like Jessica, there's no way they seriously wanted to put her in the semis. They just put her in to shut up her stupid fans
and so she won't try out again next year. Ten bucks says the rules will be changed next season and people who've been in the semis before can't
re-audition.

Yeah the judges just h8 her so much and Sass called her one of the best singers ever on the show.

Sass & Farley (I think) like her, but I KNOW Zach & Jack can't stand her.
O wellz, guess we'll see what Canada thinks over the next few weeks. But really, if Martha "fucking" Joy can make TOP 10 |

Having caught up with the season so far, I think that Jessica Sheppard is, vocally, the most superior of this season's semifinalists. "Twas a shame
that she didn't make it last year. If this competition still put vocal prowess at a premium, she'd be in with a chance. Alas, Canadian Idol's
producers don't give a shit about vocals anymore. They want "ARTISTS". They want self-congratulatory tools who fancy themselves "TOO COOL
FOR IDOL". Jessica is vocally superior to anyone who was on American Idol this year, IMHO. I am hoping that she can kick ass and chew bubble gum this
season. Has her mother thrown up yet?
