The Best of the SEAN CONNERY Period (the ONLY Period) that SHOULD COUNT, IMHO: GOLDFINGER!!!

The Best of the Roger Moore Period: "The Spy Who Loved Me," which totally REVIVED the Series and made it VIABLE to this DAY. (Although, "Live and Let Die" was probably BETTER.)

But let's get to Bond THEME Songs:

1. "Diamonds are Forever." A GREAT theme to a mediocre movie. Reviving out of the ashes not just the Franchise, but Sean Connery and SHIRLEY BASSEY'S places an the greatest Bond Song Singer EVER!!!

2. "Goldfinger."

3. "Live and Let Die," albeit with Linda McCartney's Reggae breakdown and George Martin's instrumentals.

4. "Nobody Does It Better."

5. "You Only Live Twice." Not the BEST Bond theme, but the least APPRECIATED at the time.



Very good points. I think you give short shrift to "Diamonds are Forever". It's more a spoof but has tremendous production values and some edgy, ground-breaking action sequences and fight scenes. Who can forget Bambi and Thumper?
As far as fight scenes go, few can top Bond and Nash in "From Russia With Love".

Roger Moore? "Spy" was good, but "Moonraker" was his best- with a great theme song, gorgeous women, and great production values- as always. Too bad they gave Jaws and his bespeckled girlfriend so much celluloid. Yes, "View to a Kill" is also top-notch Bond that I can watch again and again without growing tired of it.

However, it really was a shame Connery retired before "On Her Majesties Secret Service" was made. Put Connery in place of Lazenby and it could have been the greatest Bond film.
