JD Drew returns to the City of Brotherly Batteries and rocks the Phils, and the Sox take 2 out of 3 with their 3-4-5 pitchers.

Drew went 4-5 last night in the City That Loves Him. JD Drew batting .441 for June.
Powers, you forgot to mention Sox pwned the Sillies with Ramirez, Ortiz and Youkilis out of the lineup. In Philadelphia, which of course means no DH as well. |

I'm trying to be sensitive to the whole adding salt to the wound thing. Just like I didn't mention that the Phillies threw their top three pitchers in
the series.

the Red Sox lost that first game in Phillie, right?....I was looking at the standings at SI.com and noticed they say the Red Sox have a 4 game winning streak
and the Phillies a four game losing streak....why are they not acknowleging that that game happened?....

Hey Pow, did Papelbon get reprimanded for calling out the Rays? I wouldn't think Francona was too pleased. Usually MLB frowns upon call outs and sends
officials to the games to keep a lid on trouble. Which sucks 'cause it would/could brighten up a otherwise boring first half.

I didn't know that he had. Link?
JSYK, Pap isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the box. He's kind of a Nuke LaLoosh type, so I'd imagine that something he said would get taken with a grain of salt. Now if Lowell, Schilling, Varitek or one of the other leaders on the team had said something, then I'd think there would be something worth taking seriously. |

I think Papelbon is a bit of a dickwad, but kudos to him for having the balls to state the obvious.
Its too bad we don't see more of this kind of stuff. Nobody's allowed to have opinions anymore in pro sports. |

What did he say and when did he say it?
You guys probably take the homeless guy on the side of the road seriously when he says that the sky is falling. Pap is a certified numbskull. Simply because he is talented enough to wear a major league uniform does not mean he is smart enough to do anything but spout off at the mouth. |

O shitballs after 7 by Brewer's Dave Bush (2-7 with a 5.21 ERA) against Toronto. Now top 8 no outs.
ETA: as soon as I added this, mlb.com updated and I see Bush gave up 2 shitballs and 1 run. |

So we've (yes, I said we, so sue me) have fired our hitting coach, our GM, and now our manager.
I didn't know those guys had such poor batting averages. |

They never ran it Boston? It's all over the sports here. |

I guess Pinella got his wish. These two teams really do have some major beef now thanks to him.

That was a week ago, and the fight was two weeks ago. Until they show up at the Trop on the 30th, and little Johnny Big Balls decides to start something, who cares. In current news, the Rays won their 9th straight series at home last night, and tonight they're looking for the broom. The #1 Cubbies just might get swept. Solly Rou. There's also this, which will help the slower posters understand why the Rays aren't going anywhere. pssst it's 2008
