I used to take long showers in order to use the water for things other than showering. ahhh memories.

I don't think it's so unusual. My best friend's daughter had to be poked with a sharp stick to get her to shower. Even mocking from other kids
didn't motivate her. She outgrew that. Her other daughter was a real girlie-girl and showered a lot.
And my ex's sons also went through a stinky phase where they refused to shower. He had to tell them EVERY DAY to shower. They're both good about it now. |

I installed hidden cameras in the shower to make sure that my step daughter was keeping clean.

My daughter is an obsessive showerer.
She also won't leave the house without makeup and hair done. And those shoes may not be right with those pants, but then again, after she changes shoes, she realizes the shoes were right all along and it was the pants that needed to be changed. Then forget it, it should have been this skirt all along. With those other shoes. Of course, then both pairs of pants that were worn less than 2 minutes each have to go in the laundry because wearing them AGAIN would be like totally gross. Kimbob the Exhausted and Late |

I can't leave the house without showering. I just couldn't imagine going into a store/appointment and not having showered for the day. That's
nasty.

Um, ew. Yes, its weird. I'm a guy and by the time I was 16 if I didn't shower in the morning I felt disgusting the whole day.

It was like pulling teeth for my mom to get my brothers to shower at that age, and same for my son until lately (He's 18 now).
The girl is not obsessive about it but she showers daily. |

If you take away their toilet paper, they WILL shower.
Problem solved. |

Remember when parents could say: "While you are living under MY roof, you will do as I say?"
And kids actually DID? I'd also take away their FOOD and their bedroom DOORS until they showered. And I'd parental-lock EVERY television channel. |

I was not a frequent showerer in high school. I went through a phase where I showered constantly though. It was after I discovered the shower massager, but
before we replaced it with the new one that just didn't love me the same way. Anyway, I was fine. Had friends, got a boyfriend, good grades, whatever.

Well, it might have contributed to my severe internet addiction/current social pariah status. Keep that in mind. I am here after all.

My parents say that my sisters and I are the reason that they had a second bathroom installed in their bedroom... As soon as we each hit 13, we were fighting
over the bathroom. Between the 3 of us there was no time (or hot water) for anyone else.
However my best friend did tell me once that in high school she would just shower once or twice a week, because she would rather sleep than be clean. |
