I am a big horror movie fan, really the only two movies to ever freak me out were Nightmare on Elm Street and Child's Play and both of those wore off after I saw horrible sequels those series produced. But I loved Scream, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Thing. Not that any were very scary, they are just great movies. Also fans of The Descent be prepared to be disappointed because they are bringing back both Sarah AND Juno which is a bunch of shit.

Apparently that movie is being remade. I doubt they'll be able to name the protagonist Harry Potter. JK Rowling would probably sue. The sequel to that movie, was disgusting, I could never watch it, it was nasty. Pumpkinhead series, was another horrible movie series, it got worse when sci-fi channel made two direct sequels to the series. I do think the creature was kind of creepy though, as a kid it scarred me but when I saw it about a year ago, I was like this is lame. The sci-fi channel original movies, always deliver the worst movies.

Posts: 752 (06/11/08 5:56 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	And if you look at the Blockbuster shelves or "New Releases in Horror" on Netflix...the DRECK that makes it onto the shelves as "horror" is incredibly bad...It's like "Friday the 13th" with just a different fabled serial killer and a bunch of no-name hottie actors. And it makes you think that some of these may have been conceived as theatre-worthy films...and that some films deemed "theatre-worthy" actually belong smack dab in the 2.99 bin.

The one I saw had the blonde bad ass escaping and driving toward town(I guess) as the ending. Of course she had wacked Juno on the knee and left her to be eaten. Could someone please enlighten me as to what happened in the other ending?

Modern ones are generally horrible, as are most of the remakes, ESPECIALLY the Night of the Living dead one, you can't change the main charachter from the scared/emotionally damaged blonde Barbara to some super hero that looks like a lesbian Barbara, they completley ruined her! My favorite horror movies are: Diaboliques - A psychological old thriller that semmed so surreal, and the twist wasn't what I expected Suspiria - The best horror movie that utilized color, Dario Argento is a GENIUS! The Descent - The ONLY English speaking horror movie made after 1990 that I love, although the monsters were a bit stupid it was still good Peeping Tom - The creepiest and realest horror movie I've ever seen, it still gives me chills thinking about it. Halloween - The ultimate slasher film. With genuine scariness and Jamie Lee Curtis's flawless acting, it's till a personal favorite The Sentinel - An underrated classic, ahead of it's time Alice, Sweet, Alice - Very chilling because the main antagonist and protagonist is the same little girl and you don't know wheither to root for her or hate her. Night of the Living Dead - the best zombie movie EVER made. A Tale of Two Sisters - this is the most artistic horror movie I've ever seen. With French inspired music, and the use of color, it's an art film, and genuinley scary at that. Carnival of Souls - My favorite horror movie. It's short and tends to drag towards the middle, but those flaws are part of the reason I love it. With eeiry orgn music, a scary mysterious man, and the main herroine who is emotionally distant from all living people, it makes you think long after viewing. Ahhh, so many more I could list but can't, I'll stop myself at 10. I could make a list of the worst ones, but to sum it up, any post 1990 Hollywood remake of a classic, and the Saw movies.

I was 8 when I saw it, and that screetching freaked me the fuck OUT. "Phantasm". The flying ball and that evil mosoleum dude were NASTY. "Jaws" had me out of the water for years.
