Horror films today just aren't frightening.
I remember during the 70's when classics such as The Exorcist, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Jaws would make the nightly news due
to people either fainting, vomiting or having heart attacks while viewing them in the theater. Of course back then the very idea of a possessed child, a family
of cannibals and a murderous giant shark was original and never seen before. They shocked the nervous system. They struck unjaded audiences like a cannonball
to the chest.
These days they just crank out horror films like crappy Yugoslavian automobiles on an assembly line. Sure, they might give them a few shiny bolts and possibly
a working radio that's capable of picking up FM, but the design is still the same, they break down easily and are hardly worth the money.
