So he learned a lesson and saved the day. I like the twist where Ashleigh didn't have to pay for her credit card folly either. In the old days she would have had to learn a hard lesson about responsiblilty by having to get a part-time job to pay it off. Seems like every high school and college show has a fake ID and credit card episode. Thankfully they rolled them into one.

I would've given the show a few more points if Ashleigh would've made a comment pertaining to Lisa Turtle. I know they touched on it earlier in the season, but it would be nice to see Rusty and Calvin interact with one another. They did that whole flashback episode which showed Calvin and Rusty's relationship mirroring Evan and Cappie's. I was hoping they'd do something to show it wasn't going to turn out that way. You never see them together.

It felt like it was back to the Greek I love! Ashley <3333 It was soooo fitting that her character went through the whole credit thing. And of course Calvin is the responsible one. I love the Calvin/Ashley friendship that has developed throughout the season. Where was Rebecca this season? She is the star of the show for me (besides Cappie). According to the previews, she is back next epsisode for the finale. I agree about the Rusty singing scene. That was so awkward! I literally had to close my eyes. I couldnt watch it. Thank goodness Evan and Casey seem to be done now! I have never supported their relationship and I never will. Frannie's character was very complex this episode. I loved it! Very interesting to see her tactics. Finally, the old Frannie I love is showing through again. The previews for next week look very interesting. It shows a lot of the Casey/Cappie/Rebecca drama that I love! I hope that Cappie and Casey get back together. But it makes me feel bad for Rebecca. Cant wait to see what happens! Anyone know if this show is coming back for another season? I hope it is!

OK, I'll start... keep in mind, I'm a little fuzzy from the Drambuie... Yay to the kiss between Cappie & Casey... not sure if it's a boo or hiss to it not sticking, but I kind of liked that Cappie went back to Rebecca when she had a shitty night. I <3 Cappie, and want to be his Puma. Liked the discussion between Calvin & Rusty... especially the comment from Dale "the 80's?"... although I can't remember what the question was, I know I thought it was funny whenever he said it... And dumb ass ending... whatever... this show has lost some of it's shine for me, but I still have <3 in my <3 for it.

I'm ok with that. I don't mind there being a scandal with Rebecca's dad, but I wish they didn't do the whole Spitzer thing. I mean, I hated when all the crime shows would do "ripped from the headlines." Hey, how about actually creating something rather than just stealing it from the news?

I was hoping for some juicy hook ups or big fights. But no. I am glad at least Rusty and Calvin made up. We are going to be stuck with this show forever if they do at least three seasons for a college year!

Either way, I'm willing to give it some slack. To be honest, I hated that they ended the season on Spring Break. This would've fit more as a Sweeps episode or maybe setting a few storylines up for a big finale. When they come back in the fall, are they going to be in the last month or 2 of the Spring semester? They are really starting to play with time a little more than they should. The only caveat to that is that even though it doesn't make sense from a broadcast POV, it will still be in some kind of order for DVD/BR, so it may not ultimately be that huge of a deal. I hate Evan and Frannie together, but it's only because I know it's going to piss Casey off. I really wish they could be together and it just not be a big deal. They definitely make a better couple than Evan/Casey do. I hope Cappie and Casey ultimately end up together. They seem to have the best chemistry of all the relationships. Hell, maybe Rebecca can end up with RUSTY, since they are the same age. Don't know how that relationship would fit, but it'd certainly be interesting. Despite her flakey storylines, I'm really digging Ashleigh's role in the show now. Her storylines are kind of cheesy and cliche (seriously, who didn't see the whole "max out credit cards" angle coming, and of course she would fall for a dude who opens beer with his shoe), but it works for her without feeling gratuitous. I'm most saddened by the poor utilization of Calvin. He was awesome during the first season until they decided to really pursue the typical "gay guy" route. I'm not homophobic, but his storylines are boring to me, and he just doesn't work well unless he's playing off of Rusty or Dale, which is why I'm GLAD they are all finally on the same page again. All 3 of them have gone stale since Rusty and Calvin split ways and Dale seemed to have been ignored for stretches. Overall, I still love the show. I just hope they bring more to the table next season.

I thought the end scene with the girls on the beach was really touching. It was one of those SatC "Who needs men when we have each other?" kind of moments. Casey and Cappie will definitely end up together, at least by the time they graduate, now that Casey's choosing her own path and not following Evan's. The only reason Casey really seemed to have any focus when it came to her future was because she planned on it being with Evan, so when that was over, there was really nothing left for her in that direction and I'm glad she realized it. I hate when people sacrifice their own interests because they want to remain closer to their SO. So by the end of next season they will finally no longer be pledges and actually brothers/sisters? FINALLY?! Don't know much about how the Greek system works, which is partially why this show is completely fascinating to me. I also remember seeing those Spring Break events on MTV and dreaming in high school that I'd be able to go to one of those while in college. Never happened, but I'm certain the reality of it all is much worse than it shows on TV and I loved the "New Year's Syndrome" line because it's SO. TRUE. NYE is one of my least favorite 'holidays' because it's never anywhere near as good as you expect or hope it's going to be.

I don't know; was never interested in being in the Greek system. I do wish the season ended at the end of the semester. There's still plenty of time between Spring Break and the summer. I wonder if that'll be next season. If they go by semester, they can still get out 2 more seasons with Casey, Cappie, and Evan (and I think Frannie; isn't she coming back for a 5th year?). I read (might have been TV Guide) that Charisma Carpenter will be returning next season.

Posts: 4155 (06/10/08 8:59 PM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	From my limited experience at college with a friend/roommate who was Greek, you get rushed either the week before or during the first week of school (this being Fall Semester). They offer you a bid shortly after that (I think at the end of rush), and if you accept, you become a pledge. In my friend's fraternity, the "pledgeship" was the entire semester, with initiation (where they become "brothers") occuring around Finals (week before, week after). In other fraternities on campus, the pledgeship was like 6-8 weeks instead of the entire August-December semester. So, to answer the question, they SHOULD'VE been initiated before Spring Semester at the latest, from what I know. A lot of pledges, especially at schools that are notorious for hazing (or at least really giving the pledges hell), have enough and snap on the brothers and quit, so they have to keep it fairly short to prevent EVERYONE from dropping out. And juniors (unless there were no seniors in the fraternity) usually do not get elected President of their Fraternity. But it's all really minor ticky-tacky shit compared to the overall show, to be honest.

I understand why they don't do it, but I don't know, there has been no hazing basically (the biggest thing we've seen is Rusty in drag and the pledges running errands). I know there's a lot of stupid shit that typically happens, and I'm not talking about any hardcore get arrested for it hazing.

In all cases, rush was the 2nd-3rd ish week of school, then pledging for 4-8 weeks, then you're in. It all occured within a semester, so we had 2 pledge classes a year. I have a few friends that pledged at other schools, and I've never heard of a one that did a year long pledge program. My opinion is that they are doing this strictly to stretch out the pledge period for Rusty, and they'll now have to maintain it throughout the show.

I felt like it kinda fell short. As for the actual fraternity system, I'm a brother (SAE WHAT WHAT!!). RUSH was an entire week during the beginning of September. You can go around to different fraternities and check them out, but me and my friend only went to one the entire week. On the last night of RUSH (Which was Thursday for us) you get bids from fraternities that want you to join, and they usually invite you to the pledge party the next night. Whatever fraternity you want to join, you just show up at the pledge party the next night. Since I only went to one fraternity during RUSH, I just got one bid, but it was the house I wanted so I was very happy. As for pledge term, ours was pretty much the entire fall semester. We came back from Thanksgiving vacation, and that night we started the final week, where we had to live in the house for an entire week w/o leaving. After that we were officially initiated as brothers the weekend afterwards.
