There was so much hype about The Exorcist when I watched it that I just wasn't very impressed. The beginning was creepy, but after that I got desensitized
to it all.

The Wicker Man and Don't Look Now which came out the same year as The Exorcist are superior horror films that don't have to hit you over the head as
much to creep the audience out.

Here's a couple of old black-and-white movies that were creepy and suspenseful but not bloody:
THE HAUNTING (the original from the early 60s, not the god-awful 90s remake) THE UNINVITED (1940s haunted house movie) Watch them with the lights out. And one of my all-time faves: THE BIRDS (1963) (this one IS a little bloody, but in that good Alfred Hitchcock kinda way).

I didn't really consider that a horror movie. Fucked up, yes. Rob Zombie's movies would be better without his wife, because she's a sucky actor. House of a Thousand Corpses was hit and miss for me, parts of it I really liked and enjoyed the fucked upness of it, and other parts I just rolled my eyes at. I do enjoy The Devil's Rejects, I liked Otis better in that. He's an evil motherfucker.
That star jumper fellow sure is a bossy fuck. What do you all think? |

Ive always loved horror movies, althought lately theyve been getting stale and repetitive, however, even as a kid they never really scared me, as I was good at
predicting what was going to happen. Even then, I knew the drunk slut in the bikini wasnt going to outrun Jason for long.
However, the one thing that always scared the shit out of me as a kid was Large Marge in Pee Wees Big Adventure. That was one scary broad. |

Well, I saw Alice, Sweet Alice for the first time since the theater, and it's still fucking great. It's definitely a movie that could not be made
today because America is quite insane and Catholics and religious freaks in general would not only have a collective cow, but would have endless meetings and
protestations and, quite possibly, either murders or child molestations to keep it from showing. All yummy and the opposite of Mel "Going To Hell"
Gibson.
Btw, Alien is a classic horror movie, and scary as shit. You are a numb dumb hunk of flesh not to appreciate that movie. Go see Adam Sandler movies and don't bother us with your opinion again. The Descent is really the first horror movie to scare the hell out of me in a long time. I almost had a panic attack in the theater (fuck you insensitive types beforehand). Otherwise, it seems like the last two generations or so have absolutely no original ideas so they just reproduce (badly) the real horror of other generations. I feels sorry that you aren't either outraged that nothing is new since the 80s, or that you don't give a shit that nothing is new since the 80s. Scary Japanese children excluded, of course. Cause we know how original Japanese scary children are. Another Made In America product you simple cows chew and cud. Just like Ford Trucks! |

Oh yes... I add Open Water to my list... it was nice and grim... would have loved to watch it in the theater... (of course, the sequel sucked ass as sequels
