Bell would have brought a complete different dynamic to the character and because of that, the character would have changed over time. I didn't want to like Rebecca in the role because of the fact I am such a fan of Kristen's work, but 14 episodes in, I will admit to her doing a solid job and keeping the character interesting enough for my tastes. She is an easily expendable character when her time comes and also one that will keep the morally grey levels high. They would have expanded her role and given her much more of a spotlight had they had the full order. Her (and their) stories got shifted to S5 becuase of it.

Honestly, I never gave it a second thought after hearing Kristen wouldn't be joining the show. I can't see KB interacting with Daniel as well as Rebecca Mader.
