funny is a fucked up thing.
sky and nancy? dreadful "comics". see? but whatever. even lame comics can get me to laugh every now and then. shit, the funniest thing on television is when leno reads newspaper articles on his monday night show. and that's because writers didn't write the jokes. oh well... |

I really liked the couple from Orange County. I think they could have their own show or movie. The guy reminds me of Will Arnett.

Sean Cullen( Canada auditions) has been around for years. He was in Corky and the Juicepigs, thankfully, he's solo since there are way too many
duos/trios/acts
............................ And the "Most controversial audition ever!!1!"? That was lame. But this is LCS. |

What's her name who was making fun of her Pakistani father. I see her all the time on MuchMusic. They have a bunch of comics on the music channel who
always find their way to LCS.

auditions they interspersed in last night's episode were vastly superior to those Irish assholes. They are the opposite of comedy.

ETA: I posted this before I saw humperdinck's post... it actually is a huge relief to know I'm not crazy and the Meehans were that crap.
I'm pleasantly surprised at how the SF show was edited overall. Except for the Meehan Brothers, who I may have mentioned, SUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKED BALLS and completely DIED on stage but the show made it look like people were actually laughing a lot during their act. I think they beefed up some of the laughtrack on the guitar guy too but that could just be because I didnt think he was funny. I ended up on TV during one of the reaction shots. I also noticed when they flashed to audience they kept showing this group of cokewhores who happened to be sitting in front of the judges. Those bitches talked to each other almost through the whole damn taping and only stopped to get up and go to the bathroom (sniff sniff) no less than 12 times during the course of the 2 hour taping. I actually was shushing them a lot because they were so loud. Oh, BTW they are DEFINITELY cutting out some of the comics that advanced. There were at least 7 acts that got passes during the taping - like the black guy, and the brunette woman who joked about yoga and a couple others. Don't know what the story is there. Last night I went to see Arj Barker and Doug Benson, who were on last year's LCS. They were both so stoned I thought they would forget their act, but they did good. Doug Benson did a little riff on LCS and a pretty spot-on imitation of Lavelle Crawford that had me in stitches.

Is Benson's unedited stand-up different than his BWE schtick and his shit on LCS last year...cuz I don't get him man...

Does anyone know when they usually put the episodes on the NBC site? NBC changed the show from a 90-minute one to a 120-minute one at the last minute, and I
didn't record the first half-hour.

and what is the format this year?
are they going to live together? with all of the drama of that season i can't even remember? or is this just edited bits of stage performance where they edit in people laughing hysterically at jokes that are not funny? how exactly will they fuck with us this year to reveal... some piece of crap the producers decided upon before this whole shit feast even started. oops. i'm sorry. how exactly will they determine the "last comic standing..." |

BobbyBrown06 wrote: His standup is even more random than what was on LCS. Something about the guy just makes me laugh, but I could totally understand why someone might not find him funny at all. He doesn't do the setup/punchline kind of comedy, it's more observational and the observations don't make sense a lot of time. It helped a lot that I was drunk, I think. He seemed like, really really stoned, though and I was getting worried he would just forget himself completely. He's playing here through the weekend with Brian Posehn. |

Ok, the old guys in Canada are by far the best duo I have seen. And they have showed a million of them. But not only were they funny but their music was kind
of catchy too.

They only passed two from Canada? Canada grows a lot of good comics. And are they going to have international auditions?

I am sorry you guys, but none of the fucking duo's in this are any good. The twins are okay, but who knows what the rest of their material is like. I hate
that they are even allowing duo's in this fucking season, or on this fucking show.
Last time I checked, it was Last Comic Standing, not Shitty Duo's Singing or Sitting. I did enjoy seeing the alien guy again in that countdown of the worse thingy, and after he made that comment about Fred Willard still being alive, I cracked up even more than the first time he said it! That guys pwns. |

So, seriously, is NBC even putting them on their website anymore?

Did anyone watch this last night?
I thought the Minneapolis showcase was the funniest one so far, but they only passed through three guys. I thought Doug Mellard should have gotten through and was rather surprised he did not. I loved Dan Cummins and the whole scandinavian sketch before his stand up, also thought Pete Lee was pretty good. The other guy that got through I fast-forwarded over, I'm watching this with my 12 and 9 year old boys, and his act seemed to be going down a path that might be better viewed when I re-watch with my husband tonight. The most striking thing was how intelligent the comedy was in Minneapolis, compared to the podunk comedy in Nashville. Not that I didn't laugh, but alot of the schtick shown in Nashville will get old real fast. I guess they had to finally take a couple of women just to even things out a bit. But why couldn't one of them have been Sabrina Matthews? Did her showcase suck so much that they didn't even show it, I find that hard to believe. And I loved the guitar guy's song about Bono. |

I watched it, but it was very late when I did. Don't remember a lot of details. Loved Cliff and Norm! Killer Beaz is very well known around here. Trademark
line: Save Up! He's been doing comedy forever. He should've told better jokes. I loved that woman, Mary Mack. She cracked me up! Also Dale Jones. I
don't remember the rest. Probably need to re-watch it.

I didn't catch a lot of last night due to all the Kathy Griffin on Bravo and SYTYCD. Sabrina was on and they didn't even show her? That sucks.

They showed Sabrina doing one joke and getting invited back to the showcase, but they didn't show her showcase performance at all. However, if you were at
my house you would have been "treated" to a painful rendition (as performed by my 12 year old son) of her suicide cat routine from last season, over
and over again.
