I remember the last hurricane Bertha. It was 1996. Caused me a BAD jetski accident and shortened our family vacation because of mandatory evacuation.
Sorry, Florida, but I've gotta hope you guys get hit a couple of times. Atlanta desperately needs the rain that comes our way after the hit. I do hope they are not deadly or cause too much damage. |

Three names from 2007 Atlantic hurricane storm are now officially retired during the 30th session of World Meteorological Organization's Regional IV
hurricane committee at Orlando, Florida.
The committee issues a list of potential names for tropical cyclones every six years and for 2013, Dean, Felix, and Noel have been replaced with Dorian, Fernand, and Nestor. http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories2008/20080513_stormnames.html |

Different colors represent the different computer models.
Turns out there are two systems still - both TS Arthur and Invest 90L. |

They don't predict the number of storms for the year, but they can predict one hitting 3-4 weeks out. Friggin NOAH can't do that.
I figure the odds. We hadn't had a hurricane for 30 years, then we get 2 right in a row with another one the next year. My city is rebuilt like a fortress and we know what to do in a natural disaster. Plus, I bought a generator and a portable a/c so I expect we won't get hit for another 30 years. |

Arthur - he does what he pleases.
Damned rude Floridian government, choosing those 'Canes and 'Noles monikers. We should refrain from offensively attempting to honor the severe storms and Indian tribes by naming school mascots after them. Then again, it shouldn't really be considered offensive to Florida State, as they've not had an offense in years. |
