I'm looking at the schedule and wondering who NBC's going to be airing tomorrow. If they show those two particular matches from today, I'm gonna
be PISSED. I'm not seeing anything in tomorrow's late contests that matches what I think would be appealing to the 'American audience' that
the networks seem to hone in on. Federer - Ancic (whoever, actually) might be something the network would like, though.
Perhaps they'll show delayed coverage of Sharapova - Knapp. Kuzzy - Petrova, Hewitt - Ferrer, and Davydenko - Ljubicic... they could all be really good matches, but I'd be quite surprised if NBC gave any of them even a sniff. Gawd, I hope they don't show the Ginepri match simply because "he's an American". I wouldn't put that past 'em, though. SIX of the 24 guys remaining are Frenchmen... huge numbers, that. Undies, neither you or your finding-guys partner-in-crime commented on the newbie I found for ya about 50 posts back. |

Sorry AM! He's okay - too narrow of a face for me and needs some dental work done.

And the upsets keep brewing... well, not necessarily anymore.
MaSha - Karin Knapp. The former led 5-3 in the 1st, and was serving for the set. Knapp won the next 3 games, but Sharapova just won her game on serve. Tiebreaker time... ...and MaSha wins the tiebreaker, 7-4!! Knapp had her chance, but didn't capitalize. Kuzzy, Azarenka, Safina, and Jankovic all rolled through their matches earlier today. Ferrer and Hewitt are in a great looking battle, tied at a set each.

If Sharapova survives Safina in the next round, I'll be shocked. As for NBC, they said on the Tennis Channel that they'd be showing Fed-Ancic and
Sharapova-Knapp.

Elena Dementieva (7) looks to advance to the round of sixteen after winning the first set (6,0)..and is now playing for the match. Her opponent in the round of sixteen looks to be Vera Zvonereva (11) who is leading in her game right now. I hope Dementieva crushes Zvonereva. I'ce seen this girl play and she is the biggest poor sport in women's tennis. Fucking hate that bitch! |

Zvonareva has had a very good year so far, so I wouldn't be surprised to see her pull through. She seems to have stopped with her crying jags. That's
always good.
As for Patty, now that she isn't play Serena, I completely expect her to bomb out to Srebotnik, either something like 6-2 6-2 or losing 8-6 in the third. Ideally, I want a Jankovic/Schnyder quarterfinal match with the winner taking the title. |

I would love to see Schnyder advance to the quarterfinals. Clay is her best surface and she really doesn't have many more oppurtunities to win a grand slam, seeing how she's closing in on 30! Dementieva and Zvonerva in the fourth round which leaves all but two of the women's third round matches complete. No surprises today, Sharapova (1), Jankovic (3), Ivanovic (2), Dementieva (7), Kuznetsova (4), and Schnyder (10) are all in the top 10 and advanced to the fourth round. |

Davydenko went out, which surprised me, especially since he was up 2 sets to 0 over Ljubicic. Federer looked really good against Ancic. Stepanek is really the
only one I could see challenging Roger prior to the final. As for the bottom half, I hope there's a Nadal/Almagro quarterfinal match.

Medina Garrigues vs. Kanepi was the match of the day on the women's side - AMG led 5-3 in the 3rd, only to lose the next 4 games. "Ebb and flow"
that match was, indeed. PJ, I agree with your suspicion that Dinara will win her match against Sharapova.
On the men's side, both Gonzalez and Ljubicic came back to win after being down 2 sets to none, and the Ferrer - Hewitt match was as great as I'd expected it to be, as well. Five Frenchmen make it to R16. |

The US program is in the same state, Gnarls. Roddick and Blake? They're at the B+ level, certainly not the A level. Amongst the women, Linds isn't
even in this tourney, Capriati will likely never return at this point, and in regards to the two who get the most attention - well, I wish they'd just
finally go away.
Ivanovic ROLLED in her match today... Suarez Navarro, the 19-year-old who's playing her first time at Roland Garros, just used an 11-3 run of games to oust Pennetta and advance to the Quarterfinals! OH... MY... Jankovic vs. Radwanska. I'm sure that NBC'll show it... they have to. Watch it. Just watch it!! I'm going to stop keeping up with it online right NOW so that I can watch on TV later w/o knowing in advance what happens.

What a couple of phonies.
They want to spend a few days at the Louvre, and their matches would have gotten in the way. "Tanks" a lot, Venus and Serena! |

Schnyder looked damn good against Srebotnik. Unfortunately, she has Ivanovic next, who looked really damn good.

Edinboro, that match is now available for viewing on TTC. I don't know why it apparently wasn't available for you to see 'Live' when it was
being played. Hmmm.
There are perhaps other routes you could go to view matches - use this link to keep up with the possibilities: Live Streams info thread Natalie, that qualy looked really good against Pennetta - she's nothing to sneeze at!
I can't understand why NBC chooses to air a Nadal blowout. Odd. The Jankovic - Radwanska had some fireworks!! J. won the 1st set, and was up 5-1 in the 2nd. R held serve to get to 2 games. J then got up 40-15 on her serve, but R saved those two MP's, as well as a 3rd, to take it to 5-3. R held serve to get to 5-4. Jelena was serving for the match again... and got broken again!! I cut out then, when it was 5-all, hoping (and incorrectly suspecting) that NBC would have the smarts to air the match. What a heartbreaker to storm all that way back, only to get decimated in a tiebreak! |
