You're a fucking moron if you don't expect a team that had the biggest turnaround in NBA history to have more fans show up at their games. But it wasn't 10,000 more. Not even 5,000 more. It was less than 2,000. For a team that won 42 more games. Well that would be kinda hard since basketball capacity and the FleetCenter is 18, 600 people. if they were averaging 8,000 people per game before, that would pretty much a financial bust. what's the statistics on the lowest average attendance for a basketball team? and i agree with soft-taco.

I don't recall you mentioning the Celtics or posting in the NBA thread before the trades last summer. Your fairweather fan base had an 85% capacity in '06-07 which was 8th WORST in the league. Even the Knicks who've been AWFUL since 2000 were in the upper half of attendance pct with a 95% capacity. Sorry, but you cannot be considered a good basketball town when you're in the bottom half in attendance pct over a 4-5 year span. Face it, the Red Sox are the only team that city isn't fairweather about. If you went to Boston pre '92 before Parcells arrived (the great GIANT coach), you wouldn't have even known that area had a pro football team. NE wins a few champ/ships and the bandwagoners start popping out of everywhere claiming they've been die hard Pats fans their entire lives. Bitch fucking please. Up until the Pats faced the Rams in the SB, football was a distant 4th among fans up there. Anyway, here is an example of "true" Celtics fans......
