For being only 18 yrs old, every step she took, every gesture she made was part of the routine. Kudoes to her and here's hoping she goes far in the contest. I'm glad to see that other people on this board are as disturbed by the "judges" as I am. That Mary broad is especially bad. She laughs her ass off at people, she's totally insensitive and downright offensive, and her "opinions" are re-hashes of whatever Nigel says. The other woman who was present during the LA auditions was also offensive, for the most part. These two broads actually make Nigel look thoughtful and insightful!!

Even Adam, as someone said, was a little more calm than usual. Like someone gave him his valium pills a few hours before and he was just coming down from the high. That said, last night was atrocious in terms of judging. I'm one of those people that likes to give out constructive criticism without having to overtly say "you've wasted my time/your time/everyone else's time," like Mary. Nigel was being his usual self, so whatever. Mary was the one who grated horribly, and I hope she watches that episode and looks back on it like "wow, I look like a horrible person." Not likely, but still, that's not Mary. The only time she seemed genuinely angry was when she was cursing. All the other times, her anger came off as comical or forced for television. And yeah, Nigel et al really need to understand that part of the reason why people don't dislike SYTYCD auditions more than AI auditions is that there are focuses on good dancers here, as opposed to hefty focus on some good dancers, lots of bad dancers, and then showing great dancers in a montage. As I seem to remember it, from the previews last week, it made it look like the girl hip-hop dancer was going to be featured for longer than the 10 seconds she actually ended up getting, if even that.

That move Joshua did when he got the ticket was amazing. I think there'll be some competition between he, Twitch, and Phillip in Vegas because I don't see all three of them getting in the Top 20. I wanted to see more of the so-called "best female hip-hop dancer ever on the show". Stupid promo monkeys.

They take what they do seriously, and they like others to take it seriously, too. The "dancing" that some of these auditioners do is an affront to the medium. When the folks trying out are nice or fun people (like the mom), the judges are nice. When they are rude or obnoxious, they SHOULD be slammed.

Gev was good too so looking forward to seeing what he can do in Vegas. Other than that slim pickings as to anyone good that's also likable. Don't think that popping hip-hop guy is going to be much good at choreography in Vegas. I have to also agree that I hate the bad auditions. It's a waste of time and none of it is particularly funny to watch and it usually gets nasty and uncomfortable too. Enough of that! I want to be wowed by the good dancers!

It would have been a lot more effective had her interview segment not been taped in front of a newer nice big home that she clearly now lives in and if she didn't make statements like 'we had to give away a few cars' when most families have 1-2 cars max. I wanted to post that, but I didn't know if I saw it right, that's why I just said "confused." She was crying about losing their house and it shows them in some really nice place, and then she talks about having to give away a few cars and I got even more confused. Like "why is she crying?" I was wondering if I heard her correctly, and so it's nice to see someone noticed the same thing.

TRUST! and IA on the judging thing! i too would be a bitch if some micky mouse look a like cam to audition, SUCKED BIG TIME, and then was a bitch about it! It must be pretty frustrating to have to watch those sucky dancers who say they can dance well, when they CAN'T, i mean, the mom was all like, well i had fun, but others tend to be like, oh i can dance, you don't know nothing, i won't watch the show and what not!

Posts: 607 (05/29/08 4:11 PM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	It's not the JUDGING that's bad, it's the fact that we have to sit through 2 hours of them getting all pompous and sarcastic (and not really any good sarcasm, either) with people that are at the least in denial, and at the most have real mental problems, with the occasional good dancer or person with potential thrown in. It just makes them look ridiculous. A few bad apples, ok, but on last night's show this was out of control. None of this discourages the people who aren't any good from trying out. In fact it encourages them because they know they have a really good chance of getting on TV. It's like The Jerry Springer Show for dancing.

Not as bad as Olivia and her cancerous mom last year, but annoying none the less. Her 'sob story' was ridiculous to me as well. It would have been a lot more effective had her interview segment not been taped in front of a newer nice big home that she clearly now lives in and if she didn't make statements like 'we had to give away a few cars' when most families have 1-2 cars max. i really liked this girl,she was pretty good, i didn't care for her story, but i was TOTALLY relieved when they showed she was a ballroom dancer instead of one of millions of hip hop or contemporary dancers who honestly there are way too many! i think she makes top 20

I thought she was pretty good, but if I have to hear someone complain about having to give away a few cars, it would make me hate her.
