That fighter was hardcore. His whole "Play my music" speech was so epic, I wanted him to do amazing.
But he didn't |

Ugh. They just flashed through what looked like half a dozen good dancers so they could give more time to people who suck. It must be frustrating for the
people who actually made it throuhg the auditions to wait weeks/months to see what may be their only televised performance only to get a two second clip so
they can show some "bored stripper" wandering around the stage.

I must say, these judges do seem to go even more over the top in terms of harshness just to make good tv. On Idol it's dont in a jovial way, but Nigel and
Mary are just dispicable human beings who have an air of arrogance about them.
It really is the worst judging panel on any reality show |

I agree, the judges were particularly nasty tonight, and we saw way too many bad dancers for no other reason than to try to make good tv, which it wasn't,
at all. I usually like the auditions, but it was painful tonight. Hopefully they'll settle down when the show really starts.

Anyone know the name of song that John Dix and Ariel danced to?
Lyrics are something like "Try to forget that I might be leaving tomorrow. Try to return the courage you had to borrow." I've looked all over the place. I wish they would give song titles like they do during the Top 20 rounds. |

Which one of you was the "actress/financial planner"? Fess up.
Sooo...is it just me or are they showing WAY more girls than guys? Seems like the girls have definitely been highlighted. Do the guys just suck? Is this normally how they do it? This is my first season watching. I liked Ariel and the Kazakhstani guy the best. They were greatness. The girl whose family lost their home was cute, but didn't seems like she'd stand out later. And what were the judges smoking feeling so generous to the two girls who are friends and divorcees? They were cute and all, but were they actually good dancers? |

just to remind you...As bad as Randy and Paula are, if you go by my theory that Nigel is the one telling them what to say and who to pimp, we go right back to this being the worst panel on earth |

I didn't find Mandy to be that bad. I was just happy to actually hear her talk on the show.
And was anyone impressed that Adam was particularly toned down during the auditions. I mean, other than shouting during one hip-hop routine, and doing a vegas song thing, he was hardly as loud and obnoxious as last year. But yeah, I was kinda bored. I found they had too many dancers who weren't good enough to be impressive and weren't bad enough to be entertaining. They were just...meh. I actually want to see pulled hamstring guy doing something again, since he can't be horrible with his credentials and everything (and he couldn't even lift his left during his audition, which we saw him do during rehearsal). I love how they showed more of "best female hip hop dancer ever" in the commercials than the actual show itself. And I actually felt bad for Arial's partner, since he did all the lifts. Hope he gets better and comes back. As much as I loved the dancing of that first blond ballroom dancer, was anyone else confused about her sob story. It seemed a little forced to me. Not as bad as Olivia and her cancerous mom last year, but annoying none the less. |

Nigel Lythgoe is nasty in real life. His nastiness is not an act for tv.
He wanted to be top dog in their marriage. |

Does anyone know the addresses of any Planned Parenthood offices in Utah?

I'm so tempted to make an avie of Mary saying bye-bye to that Mickey Mouse guy. I thought it was funny that he just kept on arguing with the judges like he
did.

so, i got bored and myspaced the actress/financial planner and she had a link to her blog where she talks about her audition. pretty interesting..
http://www.printnpost.com/blogs/4162/Me-on-So-You-Think-You-Can-Dance-2008.html "I don't have any formal training besides going to dance clubs and knowing people who do have formal training, always had a natural thing going on that people like and just pick up dance easily for no reason. It could have been the martial arts training from when I was a kid." i want to know the song used during ariels performance too, kermit. |

It really is the worst judging panel on any reality showI'm on the other side of the fence with that statement. The SYTYCD panel is IMO the best on reality TV, because they all seem to know their shit. Compare to AI, where Paula has no clue and Randy is incapable of any critique other than "a little pitchy" or "wrong song choice." AI has the worst panel by far. |

I agree Vaughn. They are generally pretty respectful provided they get respect from the auditioner. They were pretty nice to the mom, much nicer than simon
would be. The only people they're really rude to are the people who are delusional and think that they should get a pass because they were nervous and
forgot their dance.
The HSM ringer seems unfair. She's had a major role in a huge TV musical with a cult following. She'll be the winner if she makes it to the top 20 unless she turns into a Blake. |

* Well we have our 1st shitty non trained dancer that can do things half ass and skate on by while others that are a million times better get axed and I hate
him for it so boo to the strip club DJ. His audition was one note and based on the type of stuff we have seen in that genre so far, nothing great and then he
supposedly bombs the choreo round but guess what? Vegas anyway. Fuck that..public enemy #1.
* I really liked Arielle and thought that she was likeable, cute and a really pretty dancer. * I know basically nothing about HSM but the daughter was also really good and likeable and you can tell that she's lots of fun. I am afraid that we will get a voting juggernaut like we did w/ Benji and her partner will get carried through no matter what w/ her but she's actually really good so it might not bother me as much. If her partner is like the strip club DJ guy and he ends up w/ a fanbase as well like Donyelle despite sucking like Donyelle that can carry him to the end on his own then I'd be pissed. As much as I loved the dancing of that first blond ballroom dancer, was anyone else confused about her sob story. It seemed a little forced to me. Not as bad as Olivia and her cancerous mom last year, but annoying none the less. Her 'sob story' was ridiculous to me as well. It would have been a lot more effective had her interview segment not been taped in front of a newer nice big home that she clearly now lives in and if she didn't make statements like 'we had to give away a few cars' when most families have 1-2 cars max. |
