I'm sure we wouldn't mind those questions so much if we could have a choice of A. 1-3 instead of A. 1, 9, 13 or something like that. Ugh. I always HATE

That Yahoo - not a nickname in my book. If he called Kate "That freckled woman" instead of "freckles" would it be the same? I
think not.
Plus, yahoo is in the dictionary for "boring, crass person" None of the other Sawyerisms are in the dictionary, at least not with the same definition he intended. Give yourself the points Miss Scamper, it isn't a nickname. It's an adjective. |

This reminds me of the "jabroney" discussion last season. I was about ready to burst a blood vessel over that one.
Neither do I. I remember going low on one quiz (like 0,1) and Sawyer rattled off like 6 nicknames in a 45 second time span. I have no idea if this is the same episode you're talking about or not, but there was one where I read the full episode synopsis and Sawyer was barely in it, so I went low, and just like you said, he was on screen for a total of about 5 minutes and called everyone in sight something. Stupid Sawyer nicknames. |

Yeah, same episode. I think he ended up saying like 8 freaking nicks and was only seen once.
I think we're getting nicks and "sawyerisms" mixed up. Calling someone jabroney is something only Sawyer would say (it's his thing, ya know) so it's definitely a Sawyerism - but he called that person Jabroney in place of his name making it what we call a nick. Those are the rules we started going by at the beginning and have stuck with. I think your problem with that counting was the actual meaning of the word which to you was not a nickname. Honestly I have NFI what the def is so I didn't argue it as a nick. I don't even know what a yahoo is. It just sounded funny so I jotted it down with a question mark. As for scoring, I agree with Aslans and I've mentioned it before. Spans make it much easier to settle debates when there is a question over how many times we heard Jack or one nickname someone disagrees with. Of course that doesn't count when the debate is 3 vs 4 and each is in a different span. (0-3, 4-6) But at least that way you can rule two different answers to multiple choice/high point questions instead of just throwing it out. I've noticed while doing the scoring that some posters NEVER get those 150 point questions right because you basically have the guess the exact number of times and it's just sheer luck that a few choose the right letter with the right number in that answer. (4,8,12) I can't remember the last time I got one of the high point questions right. Not sure I've gotten one right at all this season. Just my opinion, but if you want to give everyone the same chance at grabbing some more points, go back to numerical spans. That way those with lower scores have a chance of moving up and those on top aren't at a disadvantage. |

Couple questions (shocking, I know): Does a do-rag count as a hat? And, in this question : Will anyone bleed from the nostrils (like Horace & Desmond
did)? Does that mean only if the cause of nostirl bleeding is that? Or would it count if someone got punched int he nose and bled? Or if they got a
nosebleed from some other random thing?

Thanks for finding the extra p, ratsnsnakes. I think it's fixed now.
Bleeding from the nostril only counts if it's like Horace and Desmond's nose bleeds. Getting punched in the nose causing it to bleed does NOT count. I'm looking for a spontaneous nose bleed here, where all of a sudden the character's nose starts to bleed for no apparent reason. |

The question about the TV running in the background for the O6, is that any show that can be seen on TV or does the show have to have a Lostie on it? For the walking downstairs, does it need to be a staircase? Or would going down the ladder or rungs on the ship count? I apologize in advance if my questions don't make sense. I haven't slept much the last couple of nights and then today I worked over 12 hours. I am really looking forward to this quiz. It does look hard, but I'm excited at the prospect of 30 questions.
