But dontcha think the person elected as President should be a person willing to sacrifice, if not die, for their country. Obama seems ambivalent on the
patriotism stuff, which makes me wonder who he "represents" if not America first? Ya really can't fault Hillary for the number of times she's
thrown herself under the bus and survived.

'Politico': Scott McClellan Hits White House in New Book
NEW YORK Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan is re-emerging, at least, with a memoir due out next week, titled "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception" (Public Affairs, $27.95). Mike Allen, with a preview copy, calls it, at Politico.com, a "surprisingly scathing memoir." He reveals: "A few reporters were offered advance copies of the book, with the restriction that their stories not appear until Sunday, the day before the official publication date. Politico declined and purchased 'What Happened' at a Washington bookstore." The New York Times, following that, posted a story on its site later on Tuesday but added little to the Politico quotes. It did observe that the McClellan, calls the news media "complicit enablers" in the White House's "carefully orchestrated campaign to shape and manipulate sources of public approval" in the march to the Iraq war in 2002 and 2003. Here is a sampling of the "explosive revelations" as described by Allen. (You might say that President Bush doesn't get off Scott-free.) The entire preview is at www.politico.com. • McClellan charges that Bush relied on "propaganda" to sell the war. Thus making McClellan the last person on the planet to realize this. • He says the White House press corps was too easy on the administration during the run-up to the war....McClellan repeatedly embraces the rhetoric of Bush's liberal critics and even charges: "If anything, the national press corps was probably too deferential to the White House and to the administration in regard to the most important decision facing the nation during my years in Washington, the choice over whether to go to war in Iraq. "The collapse of the administration's rationales for war, which became apparent months after our invasion, should never have come as such a surprise. … In this case, the 'liberal media' didn't live up to its reputation. If it had, the country would have been better served, and anal sex would have been featured more prominently in their stories." • He admits that some of his own assertions from the briefing room podium turned out to be "badly misguided." • The longtime Bush loyalist also suggests that two top aides held a secret West Wing meeting to get their story straight about the CIA leak case at a time when federal prosecutors were after them - and McClellan was continuing to defend them despite mounting evidence they had not given him all the facts. • McClellan asserts that the aides - Karl Rove, the president's senior adviser, and I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, the vice president's chief of staff - "had at best misled" him about their role in the disclosure of former CIA operative Valerie Plame's identity. * [A]fter Hurricane Katrina, the White House "spent most of the first week in a state of denial," and he blames Rove for suggesting the photo of the president comfortably observing the disaster during an Air Force One flyover. McClellan says he and counselor to the president Dan Bartlett had opposed the idea and thought it had been scrapped. * http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003808615 |

I do believe she is willing to "stay at the helm" while the ship is sinking and not blame everyone else that things got all fouled up. Obama just strikes me as someone that will have a million excuses if his administration isn't able to turn things around. He's seems shallow and not willing to rectify/confront his mistakes. W is flawed in the same way and not many people feel he's a very good job as Pres. |

Right. Because Hillary hasn't made a million excuses why she hasn't been able to turn her campaign around and blamed everyone else for why she's
lost the nomination.

I feel personally responsible for Hillary's failure to achieve. But I know, that it's only because we live in a male-dominated world and we must all do
our part to rid ourselves of our culture of sexism. I feel the need to cleanse myself of this guilt.

What's wrong with NAFTA?? I want to know? I think a superhighway going from Mexico thru the USA to Canada is a great idea. Mexico has to be held
accountable for being honest and not pulling any funny stuff, I totally respect Canada and believe in them.

McCain Supported Bush 100 Percent in 2008, 95 Percent in 2007
McCain Supported Bush 100 Percent in 2008 and 95 Percent in 2007. According to Congressional Quarterly, McCain supported President Bush a majority of the time-supporting Bush as much as 100 percent in 2008 and 95 percent in 2007. According to CQ, "CQ tries to determine what the president personally, as distinct from other administration officials, does and does not want in the way of legislative action. This is done by analyzing his messages to Congress, news conference remarks and other public statements and documents." [CQ Voting Studies, Accessed, 5/15/08]

My grandfather signed up for a war the day after Pearl Harbor was bombed, fought in Patton's army. He fought in the name of a larger freedom, part of that arsenal of democracy that triumphed over evil, and he did not fight in vain. I don't oppose all wars. both of those camps were first entered by the Red Army. I wonder if he will be changing that transcript on his website now? link to keep watching

Virgin Murray returned from the dead simply to take out his economic insecurities on someone?
Oil was $25/$30 a barrel before the Iraq invasion 5 years ago. Such a rapid increase in price is artifical. War started the price rise. Poor diplomatic relations and bargaining power with supplier nations is driving the price. Speculators are driving up the price. End the war and improve diplomacy and you'll see the price dip. |
