Syesha- really just final 3 night sort of screwed- everyone else not named david tried to screw but didn't work :)- cook on finale night

His Michelle performance was disrespectful... If you think AI is stupid, then don't go on it Jason... But you should realize that it's a great opportunity and do your best...He frustrated the heck out of me.. Personally, I feel like Jason made it to far in the competition.. .Don't get me wrong, I prefer him to Brooke and really Kristi Lee Cook. (But Micheal Johns and Carly should have lasted longer than him....Seriously. My mom and I were both thrilled when he was finally voted off. He did have some good performances but still.. He and Brooke stayed way to long...But at least you got the impression that Brooke was trying. Maybe he will be really successful, but in order to be successful he can't have this blise attitude...I think his contentness is great, but I think he'll need a bit more drive if he wants to be successful in the business.

I thought that her "Groovy Kind of Love" in the top 24 was the second best performance of the night (after RAMIELE's "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me"), so I was shocked when the judges thought that she was boring. What did they want her to do while singing an old standard - tap dance? It just seemed like they had it in for her for some reason. I think she had a very strong voice, and a lot of potential.

I loved Randy and Paula hailing her as the "dark horse" in the early rounds of the Top 12 until they eventually jumped on the David train and started bashing the shit out of her every week despite being awesome. It was dumb that they did that the last week, because she was going regardless. I don't get why they had to completely sabotage her and cut her limps off while judging her as if she was going to even have a prayer at making the finale.

They were the only ones who pimped pretty much all throughout the season. Everyone else basically got thrown under a bus. Michael Johns was pretty pimped too, but towards the end of his stint even he was thrown under a bus to make room for the two Davids.

Great singer not so much as a performer but with judges who actually critique she could have improved this season.

The judges hated Syesha, but it didn't matter since she went as far as she possibly could. And how can anybody say Jason was screwed? He forgot his lyrics and had 5 terrible performances in a row his last 3 weeks. Why shouldn't he get criticized for that? It's the promising semifinalists like Jason Yeager and Alexandrea or early boots like David Hernandez and Chakezie who were screwed worst. I agree with the previous comments about Jason Yeager and Alexandrea. Chakezie had just as good a voice as Reuben Studdard, successfully took chances with his arrangements and had 5 good to excellent weeks in a row after his poor first week, but the judges never took him seriously. They also desperately wanted David Hernandez gone after his stripper job got publicized, and worked very hard (and successfully) on top 12 night to get rid of him after his middle of the pack performance, with even Paula joining in. Carly was the top 9 person who was most damaged by the judges. They didn't like the baggage she carried (not American, flop CD on MCA, tattooed) and held her to a higher standard than anybody else every week.

This doesn't have to do with the post I quoted, but I thought I'd mention it here. The whole "they tried to screw over Cook in the finale" bullshit is really annoying. I honestly don't think they did. I posted this elsewhere, but when I read other reports and talked to other people, I read/heard mostly the same thing. It was that they wanted Cook to win, but thought Arch sang better in the finale. Overall, it was a great finale with no sub-par performances. Even all the reports prior to the finale were saying that the producers wanted Cook to win because Arch would be unmanageable due to this dad. Simon said on Ellen that he thought Cook would win. Why does everyone still think they were trying to screw Cook over?

Jason and Syesha imo were treated very unfairly in the end because of the obvious desire of TPTB to have an all-David F2. However they both still made it to 4th and 3rd and imo that was partly because of the momentum they gained early on due to favourable treatment from the judges. I think the judges actually over praised Jason and Syesha a lot for some of the performances they did early on in the competition which in the end helped them both instead of hurt them. When Syesha was yelling her way through early performances the judges were hailing her as some amazing singer and acting like she was the best thing since sliced bread. Jason did a lot of the same early on and was never called on his weaker singing or told to step up which imo he should have. Simon's judgement of "Hallelujah" was huge for Jason, calling it brilliant, when even if it was great it was far from being brilliant. I wouldn't say they necessarily screwed Cook over. Again their treatment of him in the end was very unfair, but they had given him his due throughout the season and if anything their harsh critiques of him in the end helped him clinch the win over Archuleta. I do believe they screwed Carly over. It must have been very confusing for her when the judges went from loving what she did to nit picking on everything she did when she hadn't changed at all. You can't tell me all of the sudden her singing was bad or they didn't like her anymore when they had loved her previously. They just found new contestants they wanted in the end and they were done with her. They would pick on her for things they wouldn't call anyone else on and they rarely gave her proper credit towards the end. They dropped her like she was hot after Top 12 week. They went from comparing her to a popular Idol winner to all of the sudden giving her random critiques like "you picked a song about a blackbird" or criticing her hideous fashion. She had hideous fashion every week since her first audition, why all of the sudden did this become relavent. They screwed her over big time, even if you didn't like her shrieking or whatever it's not as if she was delivering worse performances than anyone else left in the Top 5 and that's what the judges were acting like. As for semi-finalists obviously all fodder contestants were screwed over by the judges. Most of them like Garrett Hayley and Amy Davis wouldn't have made the finals even if the judges didn't give them bad critiques but even so yes, the judges were unfair to them. Kady and Danny probably got the most screwed of the semi-finalists who had a shot. Kady was an excellent vocalist and they shot her confidence to hell Week 1 by very rudely saying she had the personality of a pencil. A pencil? I mean what kind of fucking critique of singing is that. What made that even worse was that her Week 1 performance wasn't even bad, she delivered a very good vocal and she performed right after Simon commented that he was looking for someone to deliver an excellent vocal performance. Obviously by someone Simon meant "someone we want in the finals." Danny was also screwed by their ridiculous commentary, they knew who he was bringing him in to the semis so to slam him for it once he was in was unfair.

I think it would take an offly biased person to say Archuleta didn't out sing Cook (and really by a lot) However, I heard too that a lot of people said that it sounded different on the theater then on tv.. Archuleta's voice really rang through the theater and David Cook sounded stiflied I hear by comparision.... I suspect a huge part of the problem was, when I was watching I felt Cook was holding back vocally in that last performance... He was belting less, and he was just being careful...So if he was singing quieter, it's why he sounded more stiifiled. When I say Cook held back, I'm not criticizing him, because I sing myself.. I mean all that singing can really cause you to lose your voice and you can get really tired.. If your losing your voice and that happens, there really isn't much you can do...The worst thing though you can do is push it because that could really destroy your voice..David has to be especially careful when it comes to how he sings....So I find it a good sign that he was more careful vocally, and he still sounded great on the tv... This being said I still voted for David Cook to win based on the strength of past performances.. Given a bad review for a song he had not yet sung, and then he had to sing the song anyway knowing what feedback was coming. That's a uniquely horrible position for an AI contestant to be in. Really, really bad. I also think that the reviews he got F4 night were actually personal. That wasn't a music critique; that was a smackdown. They absolutely contributed to his collapse. Fair treatment might have led to a more graceful exit, and I would not be angry. Carly - Too much bad feedback for good work. It hurt her. Syesha - Did you get the number of the bus that hit you on F3 night, Sy? And... honorable mention goes to Cookie. WTF was Simon doing on Finale night? I watched that poor man deflate like a balloon after Simon declared round after round for the Munchkin. In a back-handed way, that was a rotten thing to do to Archie, too - tell him he's certain to win and set him up to get hurt like that.

This doesn't indicate that he wasn't gracious of the opportunity or that he didn't give it his all. It's a sign of maturity and probably a blessing to be content with what you have and where you are in life. There's a fine line between being content and lacking drive to better yourself. Where Jason is, we don't know...I think its the former and I admire him for it.

But you got the impression that they both realized it was a great opportunity too, and worked hard to learn the songs, and make arrangements. Sorry but I need to practice more really turned me off on Jason. It felt cavelier.
