I'm really enjoying this entire discussion; this is a WAY overdue thread. I'm especially glad to see the Nikki love. She was much better than Simon thinks and if she had come in fourth instead of third she might have a real career going right now. Angela Peel and Nadia Turner are great rockers who happen to be black (great pic of Angela, btw!!) and I'm glad they haven't been left out of this either. IMHO Angela got robbed. She and Alexis should have been in the finals instead of Jim and EJ (and no, I don't remember who was in which semis group. Probably the groups crossed differently). Does anybody count Ryan Starr as a rocker? If nothing else, her version of You Really Got Me is better than that of Sanjaya or Zayra on Rock Star: Supernova.

But I do think Bo is the definitive Idol rocker. I know other people totally disagree, but I never got the impression Bo was fake. He always seemed so comfortable on the show, previous drug bust and all. I recently saw him live and he seems exactly like what we saw on TV, a good solid rocker (having said this, the show WAS only good, not great. His drummer overplayed and a lot of the material is unmemorable, generic southern rock). But even if you think they were better, Daughtry and Cook simply would not have tried out for the show if Bo hadn't been there already and come in second. I think Daughtry even said this explicitly while he was on the show.
